Obama calls for rebuilding of US economy

US President Barack Obama said Saturday the United States needed to do more than just reclaim jobs lost to the recession, as he called for rebuilding the economy to make it secure for future generations.

"Our mission isn't just to put people back to work - it's to rebuild an economy where that work pays; an economy in which everyone who works hard has the chance to get ahead," Obama said in his radio and Internet address.

The comment came after new Labor Department statistics showed that the June jobless rate was unchanged from May at 8.2 percent, with 12.7 million people in the ranks of the unemployed.

The United States added only 80,000 jobs in June, the third month of weak jobs growth amid a sluggish economy that has kept hiring on hold, the department data made public on Friday showed.

The figure was far below what is needed just to keep pace with growth in the labor force, signaling no relief in sight for an unemployment rate that has held above 8.0 percent for more than three years.

The disappointing report toughened the challenge ahead for Obama, who is fighting to keep his job in the November presidential election against charges by Republican challenger Mitt Romney that his administration has failed to revive the economy.

Romney argued that Friday's weak US jobs report was proof Obama's economic policies were failing, saying "this kick in the gut has got to end."

Are these Days as dark as when the British sacked DC?

Certainly as dangerous for this nation in its tender state.

yet the mainstream media pretty much ignores reality, and reports fantasical goings on.. ‘Morning in America’ has become ‘Schmoozing with Socialists in Homeland’.

80,000 jobs gained.

800,000 young illegal immigrants granted amnesty. Somehow the math isn’t working.

No Apologies.. Go figure.
(That’s OK, Fidel and Pol Pot never apologized either. You’re in elite territory.)

In first election bus tour, defiant Obama touts his health care law
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/first-election-bus-tour-defiant-obama-touts-health-204936656.html

Olivier Knox, Yahoo! News | The Ticket 7/6/12

President Barack Obama promised cheering supporters in Ohio that he would “make no apologies” for his overhaul of health care and mocked rival Mitt Romney’s apparent change of heart on his own approach in Massachusetts.

“When you hear all these folks saying, ‘Oh, no, no, this is a tax, this is a burden on middle-class families,’ let me tell you, we know because the guy I’m running against tried this in Massachusetts and it’s working just fine—even though now he denies it,” Obama told about 300 supporters at Dobbins Elementary School in the village of Poland.

The president brought up health care often on this week’s two day bus tour—the first of this election cycle. On Friday, the president’s reelection campaign promoted an interview with an NBC affiliate in Cincinnati in which he hit Romney for changing his tune on whether the individual mandate—the requirement that people have health insurance—is a penalty or a tax. Romney says it’s a tax in Obamacare but a penalty in his own plan.

“One of the things that you learn as president is that what you say matters and your principles matter,” Obama scolded in the interview. “And sometimes, you’ve got to fight for things that you believe in and you can’t just switch on a dime.”

The debate has flared because the Supreme Court upheld Obama’s signature domestic policy achievement under Congress’s taxing power. Republicans have seized on that to accuse the president of breaking a pledge not to raise taxes on middle-class families. The White House insists that the fine imposed is a penalty, not a tax.”We’re going to charge you a penalty to make sure that you’re not unloading those costs on everybody else,” Obama said in Poland. “It will affect less than 1 percent of the population, because most Americans are responsible and do the right thing. I make no apologies for it.”

Our mission isn't just to put people back to work - it's to rebuild an economy where that work pays; an economy in which everyone who works hard has the chance to get ahead, but not too far ahead.

Fixed it.

I feel embarrassed for anybody who pays attention to this idiot.

Nope! I looked for "semi-satire, semi-news" before I even clicked open the thread.

Lately, I been checking almost every article. Sadly, I have found that most of them are actually accurate, and I only been hoping it is satire. Especially when it comes to obama and his goons.

Capitalism works every time it’s tried. Marxism fails every time it’s forced upon a nation.

HOUSTON - There is a funny thing about the programs for this year's NAACP national convention. Amid all the lists of speakers and seminars there's a full page, full color picture of President Barack Obama, touting him as the speaker at the final plenary session of the convention in downtown Houston. There's only one problem: The president isn't coming. The convention organizers are already talking about their main concerns, from economic opportunity to what critics call "voter suppression" efforts to block African-Americans from voting. But they're also pardoning the president for declining their invitation and instead dispatching Vice President Joe Biden, even though Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney plans to speak next week. "Well,, everybody would like to have the president wherever they are, which is why the president is not going to be able to make it," said U.S. Rep. Al Green, the Houston Democrat whose association with the local NAACP dates back decades. "There are many demands on the president." Organizers expect more than 8,000 visitors to come to Houston for the convention, including delegates and their families. Some of them showed up for registration on Friday, the day before the formal opening of the gathering at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Workers driving forklifts, spreading carpet and setting up framework for booths spent the day preparing for the five-day event. In many ways, it's a standard convention with days full of arcane ... blah blah blah
