Lance Cpl. Hunter H.D. Hogan entered the USMC 26 OCT. 2009.
He served with the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division.
The most outstanding custom in the Marine Corps is simply being a Marine and all that it implies. Call it morale, call it esprit de corps, call it what you will it is that pride which sets a United States Marine apart from the other armed services. It is not taught in manuals, yet it is the most impressive lesson a recruit learns in boot camp. It is not tangible, yet it has won fights against material odds. Perhaps Sen. Paul H. Douglas has best defined it:
Those of us who have had the privilege of serving in the Marine Corps value our experience as among the most precious of our lives. The fellowship of shared hardships and dangers in worthy cause creates a close bond of comradeship. It is the basic reason for the cohesiveness of Marines and for the pride we have in our corps and our loyalty to each other.
Lance Corporal Hunter H.D. Hogan was proud of his Corps and believed it to be second to none. He was loyal to his comrades and to the Marine Corps, adhering always to the motto Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful.
H.D. on his personal side was all about, as he said the 3 Fs... family, friends, and fun. With emphasis on fun! Hunter lived his life at 110 miles per hour. Whether it be his passion for rodeo and bucking horses, his enthusiasm hunting and fishing, or with his time in the Marine Corps.
H.D. had the ability to make people around him push themselves to be better at whatever they were doing. Be it with a quick witted comment or on occasions with his brutally honest sharp tongue. Hunter was a man that people gravitated to. Recent comments that have been posted to his Facebook page trumpet one thing about this young man. Saying not that H.D. was my best friend in 2nd grade or in football or in high school rodeo. Going down the list of posts they all began or ended with H.D. was my best friend, period. And there are few better than him to have on your side.
Hunter had opportunities to college rodeo. He chose the Marine Corps instead. Saying that he just wanted to serve his country for 4 years and hed get back to rodeing afterwards. In doing so it brought him into the love of his life, Brittney. He was never so happy as when they were married on December 29, 2010. For those of you who were blessed to be around them, you all knew that they were a perfectly matched couple. You could also see the true pure love that they had for each other.
We as family and friends of H.D. have all suffered a tremendous blow with the loss of this amazing young Hero. But through this tragedy some wonderful positives have begun to emerge.
His wife and father have decided as these positive things are popping up, that H.D.s up in heaven with us all in a pot. And hes occasionally reaching into it with a stick and giving it a quick little stir. Then sitting back with his crooked grin and giggling.
Hunter H.D. Hogan (pause) Fearless and Brave (pause) Man, he sure could Cowboy.
We as family and friends of Lance Cpl. Hogan and other service members, want to know why the media in our country has coddled instead of covered this Teflon coated administration!
We listened every night on the news for 8 years with the previous administration the casualty reports. With the present administration nothing is reported!
With the news of our recent loss of H.D. and others in his battalion, many people have made statements like I didnt think anything was going on there anymore. I thought the Marines were leaving there. Etc. etc.
Heres the statistics in Afghanistan for the 8 years of George Bush. The total killed in action under him is 660. Barack Obama in 3 years and 5 months the total killed in action is a total of 1,398.
Wounded under George Bush is 2,637 in 8 years. Wounded under Obama up to January 31st of this year is 11,529.
Why isnt the media covering this instead of covering the protestors of these brave service men and womens funerals?
The policies of this current administration and the rules of engagement are a huge factor with these casualty reports. The limited air and artillery support our men receive. The limited company level support such as motors, as well as the approval to return fire are hampering and adding to the danger they are in daily. Not to mention the severely limited night operations, that is approved, because it scares the Afghan people.
Let the military run the war. They are the professionals. Or get our people out of there.
How many more black walls full of names are we going to build?
Yet the military can have an identical target refused by ROE overseers because there may be a “civilian” nearby.
That same target then kills or injures one of our own.
Hulda, just got word of more casualties...Pray.
Is there a veterans group that can be of support to Hulda here on Fr? I’m sure there is but don’t know who to contact.
10-4, thanks. I guess that the left set him up to be the darling of the right with Hitlery’s willing disbelief comment. What really started to smell was when he demoted himself to take over McStanley’s post.
Warning sign #1 and #2 came shortly after when the ROE was further restricted when he took over operations in theatre.
Then #3 when they ushered Gates out of the Pentagon to be replaced by Panetta and then for Petreaus named Director of an agency he had no real direct contract with beforehand.
I still say the ROE was not his idea, but as a willing pawn took credit for it to keep the heat off his superiors who were already under fire for it.
Roger that. Prayers already up as I saw 4 NATO casualties reported about three hours ago.
Freepers under the Religion category get together and pray every day “Pray for our American Heroes” if anyone wants to join in.
Will Petraeus be there under the new administration? What are Romney’s leanings with the war?
<Amens are there.
That is the crapshoot we have with Romney as much as it pains me to believe. He has shown no indications he will turn the rudder more than 2° and this idiotic vacation he has been on for the past week or two is following the same stupid purple pill scenario that McLaim did.
Now that he has brought in his personal Palin hater as the new message man to replace the etch-a-sketch idiot, I cannot feel comfortable he will make any changes in ideology even though the names will change.
The only positive thing about a Romney administration is we will come off the turbo boost on our way to socialism.
Then again, he could surprise us all but I am of the opinion that I would find my backyard full of unicorns tomorrow morning before I could expect the GOPe to grow a set of ‘nads. So enough of trying to cheer you up. Prayers up to your family and the extended family to all with precious resources doing God’s bidding.
O my gosh....this is betrayal. Those stats of increased casualties is an utter travesty. I will gladly vote for a partial comservative to get Obama”ass out of there so these troopers can take care of bussiness. God have mercy on Obama”s soul...he is going to need it!

All you need to do is look at this clown and you realize he's an ass-sucking bureaucrat, who's only real talent is being a little bit better at it all than the guy he climbed over.
This guy gave his life for our nation.
We must do all that we can to save it in November.
Certainly. Bump!
Another question that has had me fuming, why was the focus on ben laden, when the destructive brains are in the head of al zawahiri? And what’s up with the prison breaks?
Thanks for this.

Have linked your article of the six new casualties here.
Was Obama’s policy involved? Will we ever know.

These stats need to be told over and over again by Romney and he needs to confront Obama on this in the debates and not back off! We had better make sure he does too!

Shame on the nation: American Hero Michael Behenna Loses Final Appeal
There is something horribly wrong in America when a soldier is jailed for killing the enemy. The criminalization of our heroes is the liberal wet dream and the goal of the enemy, Islamic supremacists. Indeed, they make common cause of their hatred of the good.
Lt. Behenna shot a known al qaeda killer on the battlefield, a terrorist the Army had actually issued a kill/capture order for before they realized he was already dead.
