by Kate Bruce
Story Updated: Jul 6, 2012 at 11:51 PM EDT

CHARLOTTE, NC - Eight weeks remain until the Democratic National Convention and while local businesses should be getting excited about the economic boost coming their way, some have a different feeling. Local vendors are feeling frustrated and want what they were promised.

Organizers are expecting the DNC to have an estimated $150 million dollar impact on the Queen City, but not everyone is getting a piece of that pie. Vendors that registered for DNC opportunities over a year ago say they’ve heard nothing.

Shequeta Smith is the Owner of Off My Chest Tees. Smith says she has been calling the DNC for months and she cannot get a straight answer out of them.

"It's very disappointing. I was very excited about a year ago and it's just dwindled every month since then; not hearing anything."

Vendors should fell grateful they haven’t heard from the DNC. When they do hear from the DNC, the DNC is going to order merchandise and stick them with the bill like Hillery did in the 2008 campaign.

Don’t know about the one with the T-shirts and sunglasses, but the lady selling chocolates looks like a cracker to me.

My word these local yahoo’s are clueless....demo rat politics is pay to play game....

Just because ther show up in your city you expect them to buy your goods without greasing the palms that make those decisions ?

You should been sucking up to the right people by making large donations to their messiah and boy king...to get a piece of the action....

They are disappointed? What did they expect? They are dealing with politicians. As a class, the most dishonest humans on earth. Only a fool would invest a bunch of money on promises from politicians.

You gotta be kidding .... being excited about promises from Progressives/Democrats/Communists .... what the hell, did you just fall off the turnip wagon? How much “retainer” or “grease” did you offer? Didn’t you take the “crony communism” course offered by SIEU? Do you realize that everything must adhere to the strict “green environment” with requisite inspections and purchase of “green stamps of approval” at special insider rates.

I own a small sign shop and require payment when the order is placed, from any political candidate. It doesn’t matter, pubbie or rat. If they lose they don’t pay. I’m too tired to break legs any more..........red

Silly vendors—you gotta pay the Union extortion fees first plus make a sizable contribution to Campaign Obama 2012 to get the prime spots. Get with the program.

I just don’t see the Barry, Mochelle, Nazi Pelosi and Dingy Harry bobbleheads being the big sellers that they were last time.
