Obama's 'missing year' at Columbia found?

Did he attend classes at Columbia?

Henry Franklin Graff, professor emeritus of history at Columbia for 46 years, has cast doubt on claims Obama attended classes at the New York City university.

“I have no recollection of Barack Obama at Columbia, and I am sure he never attended any of my classes,” Graff told WND in a telephone interview.

“For 46 years, I taught political history, diplomatic history and one of the pioneering courses on presidential history, and every future politician of note who went through Columbia in those years took one or more of my classes – every one, that is, except Barack Obama.”

Graff further told WND no professor he knew could remember having Obama as a student at Columbia.

“Nobody I knew at Columbia ever remembers Obama being there,” Graff insisted.

He may have been working for an intel organization then, but it damned sure wasn’t the CIA; more likely the KGB.

Zero sure does have the same smile as Malcolm, doesn’t he? Even the teeth match perfectly.

i’m glad you recognize there are at least 72 points we all use to recognize folks ~ otherwise every piece of toast would seem to have a picture of Jesus on the dark side.

Btw, Cord Meyer’s wife (or ex-wife..can’t remember) was involved with Kennedy. She ended up dead. On his death bed - well a little bit before he died- he said that Mary was killed by the same people who killed Kennedy.

E Howard Hunt’s confession was that the CIA did it.

Here’s the thing about the activities of the CIA.

Nothing is too tin foily but you can never really be sure what it true or what is just disinformation - or what is just a coincidence.

I think sometimes they put stuff out there that is so outrageous so people won’t believe the threads of truth in it.

It wouldn’t at all surprise me if the Oswaldo Hernandez Campos figure posting on the internet is some kind of disinformation campaign.

You just really never know.

That's happened a lot in my family.

When my daughter was about two, my dad came to visit, and showed a professionally done portrait photo to my wife and I. We looked at it, and wondered where and when he could have possibly had our daughter's picture taken.

It took us several seconds to realize that he was showing us a photo of my aunt (his little sister) from sixty years ago. I was stunned at the resemblance. My daughter was a dead ringer for her.

That is exactly what I am talking about. I have long suspected that we recreate the image of our ancestors (Unknown to us) generation after generation. We actually look like someone in our past, but we are too far separated in time to be aware of it.

Years ago we (members of a Gun Group) had invited a man who claimed to have been a direct descendant of Thomas Paine. He gave a very interesting speech about his ancestor's accomplishments and we were all inspired and entertained. He finished his speech by bringing out a copy of a portrait of Thomas Paine, and mentioning that people say he resembles his great and distant ancestor.

I looked at the portrait, and then I looked at him. I looked back at the portrait, and again I looked at him. I swear the man holding the portrait was identical in feature to the man *IN* the portrait. He looked like Thomas Paine to a "T." I was very impressed.

I think this happens all the time, but we simply don't get very many opportunities to compare various generations with their predecessors.

“college course work and what is required in undergraduate classes in order to enter certtain Masters and Doctorate programs.”

Oh, I was just wondering.

Do we know if he was a poli sci major or is even his major a secret?

If he was not a poli sci major then he could graduate with only one related class.

To get into Law School all a student needs is a relatively high GPA and a good score on the Lsat exams.

One rumor is that he got into Law school as an Affirmative Action student.

If he was stoned a lot and skipped classes, maybe that is why no one remembers him?

I think it is good to question the conspiracy theories until there is really good evidence.

The simplest answer why no one remembers him is that he as a stoned, loner and loser who advanced on Affirmative Action (as he is to this day).

Then again, it could be space aliens.

It is pretty amazing how features from some of our ancestors pop up in successive generations. I've got a clear photo of one of my paternal GG grandfathers who was born in 1844. I bear a pretty strong resemblance to him. On my mom's side, I look at the photo of her mother and see my mom looking back at me.

I looked at those too, and don't see the resemblance in those features.

I want to clarify this with you. I originally said it was the first photo I had seen of Barack Sr. that resembles Jr. I agree it's a marginal likeness at best. My second post to you indicated that all the other comparison pictures I had seen led me to believe they (Senior and Junior) are not related.

The first time I saw Barack Obama was on television - when he spoke at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. There was a live thread right here at Free Republic. Obama is up starting at Post #1673.

At Post #1916, Mo1 said He kind of reminds me of one of The Nation of Islam guys. My response at Post #2304 was to post side-by-side photos of Obama, Farrakhan and Malcolm X. Unfortunately, those photos are no longer on the servers where they were originally found, but the resemblance of Obama to Malcolm X was uncanny.

That live thread is interesting to read, especially to see what Freepers were saying about Senator Barack Hussein Obama back then. This was just one of the stepping stones in his political "career". He was set up to be elected POTUS long before he stepped on the stage that night.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying. I'm multi-tasking between work and freeping today ;-)

BUT, I got to thinking the other day that I should look to see if there is any with Romney,...because it sure seems you can’t get elected these days without their approval.

Which means, if true, I think Obama loses because Obama has crossed them.

Crossed them in what way?

Maybe he just wasn't anything remarkable. Not a CIA or KGB or Islamic agent or a Weatherman -- just an almost invisible transfer who had to struggle to get through classes, or maybe just an anonymous stoner on the fringe who barely got his degree.

The whole "crack whore" label is getting to be pretty stale now. And 1981 or 1982 was before the whole "crack epidemic" or at least very early on, wasn't it?

Think back on every suburban stoner kid you might have known in high school or college. Very few of them ended up on the streets, especially if they were already at a university like Columbia.

They say Obama used to carry around the novel The Invisible Man as a kind of icon, to say "Hey, I'm Black." No word on whether he actually read and finished the book. But perhaps young Obama really was an "invisible man" in a much more ordinary and banal sense.
