Six U.S. Troops Killed in Eastern Afghanistan Blast
ABC News ^ | Sunday, July 8, 2012 | Luis Martinez

Posted on 07/08/2012 6:56:06 PM PDT by kristinn

Six American troops were killed in a roadside blast today in eastern Afghanistan, a U.S. official told ABC News. Details about the deadly incident remain vague.

Earlier today, a press release by NATO’s International Security Assistance Force said six ISAF servicemembers “died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today.”

The nationalities of the victims were not identified because “it is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities,” the statement said.

A U.S. official confirmed to ABC News that the six killed in today’s attack were Americans, but did not have specific details about the incident.

Funny how ALL the anti-war demonstrations have gone away and the MSM no longer has the “daily death count”

When G. W. was in charge, I distinctly remember the lame-stream media giving daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports on U.S. Casualties in Afghanistan. Gee, I wonder why they have stopped giving those reports. I would think that casualties, regardless of who is in charge, would be their prime objective. Guess not, when it is a “D” named Barack Hussein Obama — the rules of the media have changed.

That’s because the media never gave a damn about the troops to begin with. They only would release the number of dead on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to trash Bush. Now that Obama is in charge, the media can get back to the “Who gives a damn” mentality about our military, who they don’t give a damn about anyway

I don’t understand how IEDs still do so much harm. If I were President, this would be priority 1 to come up with some technology to stop this menace to our troops.

The press never cared about the dead Americans. They still could care less.
They care about defeating Republicans,

thats all they care about, They are not REAL AMERICANS

They will beat you over the head with your dead sons and daughters if it means getting a democrat elected to a seat where you live. They are disgusted with the military, and the Amerucan way of life.

Check out this thread:

Statement by the father of Lance Cpl. Hunter “H.D.” Hogan (KIA 06/23/12 re: ROE)

(Excerpted)

We as family and friends of Lance Cpl. Hogan and other service members, want to know why the media in our country has coddled instead of covered this Teflon coated administration!

We listened every night on the news for 8 years with the previous administration the casualty reports. With the present administration nothing is reported!

With the news of our recent loss of H.D. and others in his battalion, many people have made statements like “I didn’t think anything was going on there anymore.” “I thought the Marines were leaving there.” Etc. etc.

Here’s the statistics in Afghanistan for the 8 years of George Bush. The total killed in action under him is 660. Barack Obama in 3 years and 5 months the total killed in action is a total of 1,398.

Wounded under George Bush is 2,637 in 8 years. Wounded under Obama up to January 31st of this year is 11,529.

Why isn’t the media covering this instead of covering the protestors of these brave service men and women’s funerals?

they were sacrificed to the political needs of the obama reelection campaign. the troops are only there so he can play the “tough on terrorism” myth. he has no intention of staying, and, indeed, has no plan for winning. they will be coming out immediately after the election when it is politically expedient to do so.

thus, they are being sacrificed.

Thank you, Pat4ever!

To All, there are many FReepers with family over there. While it's fun to point out the evils of the LSM, let's not let that get in the way of showing care and love for our service members and their families! We're better than the idiot libs! Let's act like it!

Bring. Them. Home. NOW!

There is no earthly reason for our troops to still be over
there being sacrificed for the zero’s benefit.

Those people are beyond hope and nothing we can do will change
that. We tried. I’m proud of the troops, but tired of seeing
reports of deaths that are so uncalled for!

Because they are nasty evil communist mediapigs!! Wish their media offices were the once blown to smithereens instead of those young honorable brave heroes who paid the price so that those A##holes can write their vile reports against America! I hate the liberal establishment with a purple passion...AND YES YOU TOO TURNCOAT ROBERTS...we will NEVER EVER FORGET how YOU sold America down the river for the sake of a legacy and rave reviews from the demon liberals, which those glowing write ups depart in a twinkling of an eye. YOU WILL PAY ROBERTS, because the legacy you left will be the curse you have set upon your children and future grand-kids. YOU SELFISH SOB!!

When George W. Bush was president, I remember that creep Katie Couric leading the evening news with the American death toll in Iraq every night, and mentioning the total number of Americans killed since the war began in March, 2003.

Now, you never hear squat about American casualities in Afghanistan. In the rare instances you do, it’s always “NATO” troops that were killed.

Also, the other day, 65 Iraqis were killed by their fellow Muslims in a bombing in Baghdad, but there was nothing on the news.....no mention at all.

That’s why I rarely watch the lamestream media. They’re all tools.

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- A shot rings out, but the burqa-clad woman sitting on the rocky ground does not respond.

The man pointing a rifle at her from a few feet away lets loose another round, but still there is no reaction.

He fires a third shot, and finally the woman slumps backwards.

But the man fires another shot.

And another. And another.

Nine shots in all.

Around him, dozens of men on a hillside cheer: "God is great!"

Officials in Afghanistan, believe the woman was executed because two Taliban commanders had a dispute over her, according to the governor of the province where the killing took place.

Both apparently had some kind of relationship with the woman, said Parwan province governor Abdul Basir Salangi.

"In order to save face," they accused her of adultery, Salangi said.

Then they "faked a court to decide about the fate of this woman and in one hour, they executed the woman," he added. The public execution is the latest and among the most shocking examples of violence against women in Afghanistan, but it is far from an isolated case...

And this is what we are sacrificing so many of our brave, young, Warriors for?

And these eeeevil, barbaric, Monsters (the Tally-Ban) are the same bunch of practitioners of the "Religion of Pieces," our Islamic appeasing/defending/supporting Dear Leader is "Negotiating with" while he ties the hands of our Military with his inane and insane Rules of Engagement in order to advance his "Hearts and Minds" agenda?

BRING THE ALL HOME AND BRING THEM HOME NOW!!!

My thoughts 'zackly....this "weaponry" should be defeatable by now. If we can throw 2 billion bucks into one stealth aircraft, some funding should be allocated to the current way our enemies fight us -- sh*t; this tactic has only been going on for ten years now....

time to have SECDEF Leon buy a clue, instead of daydreaming about his future in the pizza parlor business.

I concur.
Dear God. The sacrifices are for naught.
Heartbreaking.
May God hold our heroes dear and comfort their grieving families.
