Two-thirds of likely voters say President Obama has kept his 2008 campaign promise to change America but its changed for the worse, according to a sizable majority.
A new poll for The Hill found 56 percent of likely voters believe Obamas first term has transformed the nation in a negative way, compared to 35 percent who believe the country has changed for the better under his leadership.

But, if the poll is correct, how can there be any question of him losing in November?
Yet... nearly half the country wants him re-elected. Amazing.
I agree. It’s more like 76% worse and 11% better. The only group still in love with Obama is black women. I’m convinced that most black men dislike Obama for being a sissy on the downlow. However, if they want to keep peace with their wives, girlfriends and mommas, they gotta keep their mouths shut.
This is a very stupid country.
I actually have begun to pray for his physical safety. He is leading the Democrat Party towards the electoral cliff. He is too arrogant to stand down. The Clintons have a long history of Arkancides. I think the Dems are in full-blown panic and want him off the ticket and are willing to do ANYTHING to achieve it. Dangerous times.
35% of our people don’t pay attention. Look how many voted for him but won’t admit it today.
You're trying to appeal to logic. They're too stupid for that.
Oh yeah. I forgot.
I doubt the polls showing the candidates tied are an accurate reflection of what’s going to happen in November.
the question arises from the “bradley effect” folks in 2008 wanted to prove they are not racist now they won’t admit their future vote because they don’t want a stranger to think they are racist. This guy is 30 points down in direction, 20 points on the economy - and unemploy is 8% foru months from election - toast.
um... because the two ideas are not mutually exclusive...
you can believe that Obama has made things worse... and ALSO believe that Romney would do even worse than Obama.
Thanks for posting. It’s very frustrating seeing the destructive Obama ride relatively high in the polls based on support from his legions of government dependent drones. The drones simply want to stay on the gravy train and will vote for more government largesse. I think most productive and responsbible people are against him. Will there be enough of us left to eject him in November?
That’s my question. How can Gallup and others have him up? When you see these polls on the usurper’s job performance they’re universally awful.
This guy couldn’t beat Idi Amin.
“This is a very stupid country.”
The liberal “education” establishment and a corrupt media have largely accomplished their missions. Nothing short of severe economic hardship will awaken the masses.
Every candidate is guaranteed 40-43% of the vote...especially a Democrat with a compliant media. Obama is sitting right around 44-45%, which is just a tick above the minimum. He is sitting in the 44-47% range in most every swing state, which is not a good spot to be in for an incumbent. He is not winning.
Yup. Easily influenced by pop culture or other loathsome vehicles. And “stupid people” will usually vote for the Dem. While searching through TV channels the other night, I came across a David Letterman episode which was likely a repeat based on his Top Ten list. What was it? Something to do with the worst names for boys. I sensed it would include “Mitt” but that is what leads me to believe it was a repeat. “Rush” was mentioned but the list finisher was “Newt.” Letterman, of course, doesn’t have the stones to put “Barack.”
Maybe people are tired of being called a racist so they don’t answer honestly.
“Obama-Stashers” are still waiting for theirs.
I don’t know- polls are confusing. How can THIS poll be true when the other polls show this race is neck and neck? Or are the OTHER polls utterly skewed?
This explains the polling, and why they claim accuracy with a little last-minute scam.
That's why I discount any comparisons to the dynamic that took place in the 1980. It's a far different, less educated, politically aware, and more government-dependent country.
“I bet the internals on this poll are even worse for Obamugabe.”
*
When you see polls with Romney in the “lead” by 2 percentage points, the internals obviously means it’s far...far worse for Buttcrack Odumbo.
*less* politically aware
“bradley effect”
I agree with you — that phenomena is certainly a big factor that skews the polls. However, June’s job numbers and continuing economic woes may provide “cover” for some of them to openly oppose him now.
“He is not winning”
I agree with most of what you state, but the result of a poll like this is that even though a good majority of voters believe Obama’s change was bad for America, he is still almost virtually tied with Romney.
This says more about the Romney campaign than about Obama. Romney should have a definitive lead with the baggage Obama is carrying, but that is not the case
Romney is failing to project himself as a positive alternative to Obama.
You may be right...I am not in the Romney camp, other than the fact that there is no realistic alternative. I feel like they were doing a damn good job into mid June, but it seems to be flat right now.
I am not an expert on polling by any stretch, but I am not sure how much of a lead we could expect right now in mid-summer. Obama’s polls are pretty much where they have been for the past 2-2.5 years, so it may be that Romney’s campaign is happy where they are at this stage. Certainly none of Obama’s or his campaign’s language is projecting any sense of winning. They are using desperate moves and outright lies in ads and speeches. They have virtually nothing legitimate to campaign on.
Additionally, I don’t know how much of a lead a challenger can build on an incumbent at this stage. Obama’s numbers are low, and Romney is tracking slightly ahead. Until all voters are paying attention (not watching Olympics, baseball, at the pool, etc), it may be hard for a challenger to do much in terms of building a decisive lead. Most voters aren’t like us, watching every move. We see serious dissatisfaction with Obama, but no clear uprising for Romney at this stage. I am not yet too concerned, although Romney would be wise to be doing at least a small stream of positive Romney biographical ads right now...he ran some really effective ones here in Florida months ahead of the primary. I was impressed, despite working hard to defeat him.
In other words, Obama to refer to the famous “March madness” phrase is “one and DONE” come this coming November.
And yet, the “majority” is willing to vote for the AnointedIdiot to a 2nd term....at least by various polling mechanisms..... =.=
We will see how stupid in November.
A poll Ive yet to see Why do you like Obama
1.He’s black
2.He’s a socialist
3.He hates the rich
4.He hates the military
5.All of the above
Didn’t he head them off in 2008 with a murder of his own?
How many of ‘em live in battle ground states?
It doesn’t do us much good if most of them live in Red or “leaning Republican” states. Those votes are already counted...
In the middle of summer it's more than 35% who don't pay attention. The electoral cliff Obama has taken the Rats over will become very apparent to everyone in the fall.
Yep.
I think the majority of the 35% who think he changed the country for the better are the ones who believe he did something to make gay marriage legal.
Loaded dice, no doubt.
I am beginning to think that polls, of any type have the same credibility as snake oil, the check is in the mail, I’m from the government and here to help....
You cannot have that many Likely Voters saying our Marxist is hurting American and still have him in a dead heat for being re-elected.
It seems we are being lied to from just about every direction possible.
I still want to locate Saul Alinsky’s grave so I can relieve myself on it. The last thing people need is the ruling class taught how to lie and distort better by the likes of this piece of sub-human debris.
Anyone know where he is buried. Road Trip anyone???
This is a very stupid country
We’ve reached the level where the takers will soon outnumber the contributors.
The “solution” to this situation, historically, is never pretty.
Not to mention hist time there may not be an America to save the rest of the world as in WWII.
What an interesting show it would be if both the Clintons and Chicago Mob were to go to the mattresses in the late summer and fall.
Unfortunately, both sides would find a way to blame US and the complicit media would lie their butts off promoting the lie.
OTOH if the "action" would be contained, we would have to remind people that it is the Clintons who prevailed over and over with Arkancides. We must always use that word because that would be what it is IF it happens. (I also hope it doesn't.)
Last Monday, a research group phoned me and spent about 15 minutes asking me questions. I was very honest about my choices in Indiana politics and even identified myself as a tea party active member. But I just could not bring myself to comment on anything to do with this administration or the president.
As outspoken as I am, I could not do this. I don’t think I am alone.
“...This is a very stupid country....”
It’s not “the country” that’s stupid.
It’s just some of the people that are stupid. And subversive.

I’ll bet you’re right.
The 0bamamedia WANTS you to think half the country supports 0bama.. That way the massive voter fraud in November matches the current phony pro-0bama stats.
Yup, Hillary would be the default candidate if anything happened to the Kenyan. She would reap a “sympathy” vote, too, as one of the seeming victims of the “bad luck,” if, say, the Kenyan had a fatal incident. And you know the media would love at this point to weep buckets for their dearly departed saint, heaven forbid. It would be the media event of the century.
