I’d rather know what it looks like so I can avoid it. Otherwise you’re left being one of the white knighters here who would believe her when she said “oh that? i got it in a boxing match...it reappears every so often.”
But for me they’d probably all have the herp.
Herpes of the lips is very common. You do not have to have sex to get it. If you innocently kiss a woman at the end of a first date outside the restaurant who has it and even though it has cleared up and you can't see it for the most part, small trace, microscopic bits which are left are enough to get you infected.
You probably do know people who have it just that they are on med's to keep it from flaring up and outbreaking.
