Mitt Romney: the wrong man for the Right
Daily Telegraph (UK) ^ | 8:46PM BST 09 Jul 2012 | Peter Foster

Posted on 07/09/2012 3:53:51 PM PDT by Olog-hai

He’s politically dumb and his campaign is run by amateurs. He doesn’t have a message and doesn’t know how to deliver a message. He’s a political letdown running on autopilot who needs to grab the controls. He’s a man whom only friends, relatives and fellow Mormons will ever love. And his name is Mitt Romney, Republican candidate for President of the United States.

These are stinging jabs. All were made in the past week and all share one surprising thing in common: they were delivered not from the Obama campaign’s Chicago attack machine, as you might expect, but in a succession of punches from the Right.

Conservative pundits and editorial columns, senior Republicans and two of the big beasts of the business world—Rupert Murdoch and the former talismanic chief executive of General Electric, Jack Welch—have all voiced serious misgivings about Romney’s ability to deliver victory in November. …

The primary charge against Romney is one of passivity. Those on the Right who believe that they have the economic arguments to kick-start the US economy—to make it “morning again in America” as the inspiring Ronald Reagan ad put it—find Romney’s apparent inability to seize the day maddening. It’s what explains not just the criticism, but the contemptuous tone. The Wall Street Journal charged last week that Romney appeared to want to “coast” to the White House by simply repeating (as the Romney campaign does, daily) that the Obama economy is failing. “Thanks, guys,” came the bitter payoff, “but Americans already know that.” …

I resent the hell out of even the remote possibility that anywhere outside of RWANDA there exist, ‘Catholics for Romney’.

At minimum if you can’t get through Sacred Scripture, you need to square your Catechism with your Romney guy’s Massachusetts record on abortion, birth control, Planned Parenthood appointment to the oversight board enforcing the assault on religious liberty against the Church, before proclaiming a Catholic can be for Romney or Obama.

Just in time to inject his narcisistic butt in the race past the presidency, he becomes pure as the wind driven snow, yet refuses to reject his socialist/Marxist legislation. Forget about it.

Christianity and Romney do not go in the same sentence, not to mention affiliation.

Deny until the cows come home but everything the Church is fighting against in court TODAY, both in court nd out, began with your guy in MA.

I still believe Romney is the most underrated politician in America today, and that he’s the most conservative Republican standard bearer since Ronald Reagan.

That may be the most bizarre statement in the world of reality.

Romney does not have a single conservative bone in his body.

Romney's greatest strength is carpet-bombing conservatives.

On that we are in agreement. Every attack on Palin, and every attack on tea party folk, when they came from Repubs, they came from Romniacs. I haven't forgotten and I haven't forgiven. As I said at the top, I don't like Romney. And I really don't like Romniacs.

Lesser of evil arguments that favor Romney versus O are not resounding endorsements by any means. I made the comment that any name at random from the phonebook would be better than O. I'll go farther; just about any name at random from among the Repubs running against Romney would be better than Romney. I really detest the guy.

So if you are part of the "I'll still never vote for Romney" crowd

waste their time badmouthing the candidate

Did you send that to Romney as his WHOLE campaign was lying/badmouthing Newt? If not, zip it!

I DID MY PART FOR AMERICA, I voted for NEWT because I wanted THE BEST for America. Romney DIDN'T want The BEST - he deliberately spent millions lying about The Best to prevent America from having the best. He's America's enemy. So now you are on your own with your liberal LYING loser who doesn't want THE BEST for America.

I agree. I think he meant it mockingly because mitt is the total opposite of RR in every way. JUST for starters, the majority loved RR, the majority hate MR.

I loathe Romney with every fibre of my being. I hope for a revolution at the convention.

If there was any chance of it I would favor it.

I'm not in favor of a 3rd party going into the election; I want O out of there.

I'll say this; if Romney loses, there will be a revolt in the party that will make the "tea party" revolt after O's election look like child's play. It may very well split the party.

And if Romney wins and then proceeds to govern like he did in Mass, the party will split.

I'm not in favor of a 3rd party right now but ask me again this time next year.

How about Semi-Colon Powell?

That'll take some of the black vote away.

The MSM was calling Romney the frontrunner for months before he was. The MSM picked the nominee - not the voters. By the time a lot of primaries were held, Romney was already the established pick. I cannot believe I will have to vote for him.

Wait a sec, Romney successfully carpet bombed every attack waged against him, aggressively destroying all who opposed him!

... but then he ran out of Republicans

Kristol and Krauthammer are Jewish, and other RINO pundits who are nearly G-dless, or are non-practicing Christians, really have never given a large damn one way or the other about conservative core principles on life, death, abortion or euthanasia, or socialism, so long as their pundit check stays in the mail.

They are paid to be coreless, and find it easy to slice and dice those with a a core, particularly conservatives. If they are Christians they are mocked outright. It is the same with the GOP-E.

Now comes coreless Romney, whom they held out for, pulled for and built up for our consumption. It is time to insure their paycheck by unraveling him for the empty suit he is, but will surely build right back up shortly.

Anyone voting for Mittens is voting for a gun-grabbing,fag marriage promoter who helped sell abortions for fifty dollars. Yes or no?

"I find these: http://www.mediaite.com/tv/sarah-palin-to-eric-bolling-im-game-to-run-for-office-all-bets-are-off-in-a-brokered-convention/

http://hotair.com/archives/2010/09/23/palin-ill-run-for-president-if-no-one-else-steps-up/"

Thank you so much for posting these!! After reading them - does anyone think we still have a chance to dump him so Sarah will step up - or is that just wishful thinking, since he already has the nomination?

Please think about any possibilities so that we can come together with a plan. Is it possible to still have a brokered convention?

You certainly are astute.

You have already figured out that it is better to vote for a Muslim who is doing all he can to promote Islam and thereby bring about the Caliphate.

Good for you.

Yes or no? Pretty simple. You seem to understand what Mittens is. Are we just haggling over the price?

Your reply has absolutely nothing remotely related to either the thread or to my post.

It is not possible to have an intelligent exchange of ideas with one who can not follow the subject line.

Therefore, I decline to waste time with you.

I could not agree more with you agreeing with the headline.

I could not agree more than both of you together.

Guess who else agrees with us, here's the quote:

We are losing our country to godless socialism and what does the GOP do? Run an abortionist/homosexualist statist whose socialist RomneyCare program was the blueprint and impetus for ObamaCare! Screw that!! I’ll vote for the GOP’s candidate for the presidency when they run a CONSERVATIVE!! Otherwise, to hell with them!! The GOP is fast becoming cementing their place as part of the problem! Wake up America!!

Well, people keep badgering me about this. No I will not vote for an abortionist for president. Period. It’s no secret. I’ve been posting that I will not vote for Rudy/Romney abortionist for many years. Have had a headline stating that fact on the top of our main forum index page for years:

Welcome to Free Republic, America’s exclusive site for God, Family, Country, Life & Liberty conservatives!

Romney does not qualify on any count!
