Is President Obama Intentionally 'Destroying' America?
Townhall.com ^ | July 10, 2012 | David Limbaugh

Posted on 07/10/2012 1:15:57 AM PDT by Kaslin

During my book "tour," radio hosts are forever asking me whether I believe that Obama is intentionally attempting to destroy America. It's a fair question, especially given the title of my book and because so many people legitimately believe he is.

I have never been too receptive to conspiracy theories, and I'm not particularly enamored of ones circulating about Obama. But unlike many other such theories, this one is about a truly unprecedented assault on the American idea and on those first principles that have made America the unique experiment in constitutional governance that it has been.

Ordinary people -- not just a small fringe group of zealots -- are really afraid today. They see the country they adore being attacked at all levels; they see their freedoms under assault, their life savings genuinely in jeopardy, an endlessly anemic economy, a longer period of sustained unemployment than we've experienced in a half-century and a national financial crisis, born of world-historic national debt, that this president will not help avert.

These are extremely troubled times. The government is on course to gobble up our health care system; businesses are afraid to hire because of the uncertainties caused by new taxes and regulations that will be unleashed with Obamacare -- along with the largest tax increase in the nation's history, which is already awaiting us in January. Small businesses see an administration that not only is at war with the private sector but also appears to be on a mission to punish and obliterate our domestic energy sources and waste billions more in borrowed federal dollars on green energy projects doomed to fail.

Why? How can anyone explain this insanity? Does Obama truly harbor a grudge against America? What did he mean when he said he wanted to fundamentally change America? What did his wife mean when she said she'd never been proud of America in her adult life before he rose to power? What possesses Obama to deride and apologize for America? What drives him to instinctively distrust business and the private sector and to believe that federal planners ought to have enormously more discretion in how our income and wealth are distributed? What drives him to reject the American concept of equal opportunity and promote the notion of equality of outcomes? Why is he determined to energize labor unions and encourage a permanently adversarial climate between labor and management? Why is he so adamant about the United States deferring to international bodies in the conduct of its foreign affairs? Why is he hellbent on downscaling our nuclear and conventional forces and dismantling our military space program and our missile defenses?

Are people not wholly rational in wondering just what in the world is going on?

My personal belief is that Obama, like so many leftist radicals, has a strong distaste for pre-Obama America and that he believes that the United States has been an imperialistic international bully, that we've consumed too much of the world's resources, that we've been an environmental felon and that our capitalistic system unfairly and inequitably distributes income and wealth -- and I think he means to effect wholesale change to rectify those sins.

Do I believe that he wants to "destroy" America, as such? No. In his mind, as warped and foreign as I think it is, he doubtlessly believes he is helping to create a better America -- a utopia of sorts. That is, he is intentionally trying to fundamentally transform America into something that he believes would be better but that most Americans -- and infinitely more if they understood the full scope of what he is up to -- would consider horrific, an America that we would barely recognize as the one bequeathed to us by our ancestors.

On the financial front alone, Obama is single-handedly preventing entitlement and discretionary spending reform, without which -- as I've said dozens of times -- America will face financial catastrophe. There is less than zero question that he is doing that on purpose, regardless of whether you think he is otherwise intentionally damaging America. There is no question that he is acting as though he has a vendetta against the oil, coal, natural gas and nuclear power industries. There is also little question that he is intentionally dividing Americans on the basis of race, economic class, gender, sexual orientation and, sometimes, religion.

You don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to recognize the damage Obama is doing to the republic, and we haven't even touched on his unconstitutional and lawless usurpations of authority. The question isn't whether he is intentionally destroying America. The question is whether he is intentionally pursuing a set of policies that are definitely damaging America, irrespective of his motives.

The answer is -- irrefutably, emphatically -- "yes."

The presentation is good as far as it goes but I take what was said and see a scenario somewhat differently. I believe that Obama is an efficient tool for a cabal that like Obama want to diminish and probably even destroy the exceptional government that the Founders intended with our Constitution. This intent has roots going back to the days of Wilson when the foreign initiated Federal Reserve was created. The USA of ‘We the People’ no longer had our own financial base, it had been given to a bunch of European international money manipulators. There is much history from that time to now that fits the intent of our new money managers. Obama comes along and with his new(?) cabal of people to carry the torch for the change with a side change to include a Muslim USA. It bothers me that my brother like many others have died fighting for what they thought/believed and what I like many others served for was the USA of our Founders.Change has happened and witnessed by the ignorance of so many as to the significance of the 4th of July.

Anyone who has been paying attention at all can see that beneath his human skin Obama is a Marxist. Threats and intimidation are the primary means that Marxists use to gain and keep power. The Attorney General of the U.S. has been found in criminal contempt, and Obama does nothing. He refuses to enforce laws. He refuses to show up for court hearings when subpoenaed. He decrees orders that should only be issued by Congress after debate and votes. In other words, he does whatever he wants without regard to laws and the Constitution. And he continues to get away with it. He has seen to it that nothing about his past can be confirmed. We don’t know if he is actually a citizen, let alone a natural born citizen. We do know he has very close associations with persons and organizations dedicated to the overthrow of our government. With all due respect to Mr. Limbaugh, Obama’s efforts to destroy this country are definitely intentional. That is what Marxists do. He wants to destroy it as a republic and remake it into a Marxist dictatorship with himself as the dictator.

Of course Obama is intentionally working to destroy America and our freedom. He hates anything American and Jewish, and.....his wife Michelle outdoes him with her hidden hate for our great country!!! That was clearly evident for all to see prior to his election in 2008!!! His smooth talk covers his real motive here, and abroad, in working feverishly in destroying the USA. He loves the Muslim Bortherhood, his real icon, not the American Republic!!! End of story!!! any American that votes for Obama is truly not an American, IMHO!!!

I think you make a good point. The so-called “vital center”

has been lost. I don't know about comparing Obama to

Caligula, but the Secret Service would probably know.

I hope O'Reilly reads this Limbaugh essay.

Even after three-and-a-half years of facts and evidence, BOR states he "doesn't think Obama is a socialist". He doesn't think BO is deliberately trying to bring this nation to its knees in order to effect "change".

In the interest of being "fair and balanced", BOR cannot even spit out the words socialist, marxist or communist to pertain to his best bud, Barack. He would NEVER say that The Usurper is intentionally destroying America as we know her.

Well, why should anyone care what O'Really says? We shouldn't. However, he has the numero uno cable show on TV, and there's plenty of dummies who are influenced by what he says and who are neutralized into inaction on matters of right and wrong, good and evil....because that's what the "fair and balanced" Leprechaun advocates (situation ethics).

(.....Situation Ethics...a particular view of ethics in which absolute standards are considered less important than the requirements of a particular situation).

"Fair and balanced" means no moral or ethical standards need apply. Therefore, according to the O'Reilly Doctine, Obama may be out to destroy our American way of life, but, then again, in the interest of "fairness and balance", he may NOT be out to destroy the American ideal.

Limbaugh says

“Do I believe that he wants to “destroy” America, as such? No.”

He gave obama the benefit of the doubt.

Whether the "changing" of America from its foundations in a philosophy of individual freedom and limited self-government under a written Constitution is intentional, or simply the result of commitment to a philosophy antithetical to those foundations is irrelevant. The consequences, if allowed by "the People" of America, will be the same for the hopes and dreams of people throughout the globe who have looked to America for the light of liberty.

The unique idea underlying America's history is well-documented in the writings, speeches, documents, and literature from all over the world from 1620 through the histories of the 18th, 19th, and early 20th Century. It was a "Creator-People-Government" arrangement which freed individuals and bound those elected to positions in government.

The problem is that, beginning in the late 19th Century, numbers of Americans began to embrace another idea, called by various names, but an idea which, as it has emerged and dominated our institutions, is dimming the light of liberty and threatening to return America to the old "government-over-people" ideas from which the Founders and generations following them, had escaped.

As it pertains to economic matters and this political season, perhaps the President's attempt to use Romney's wealth as a campaign tool is not a new one, and it reveals an underlying ideology that is old, easy-to-recognize, and bankrupt in its ability to increase freedom or wealth for a nation.

Much of what is happening in America today is described within the following quotations from Winston Churchill:

"When I see the present Socialist Government denouncing capitalism in all its forms, mocking with derision and contempt the tremendous free enterprise capitalist system on which the mighty production of the United States is founded, I cannot help feeling that as a nation we are not acting honorably or even honestly." - Winston Churchill, Woodford Green, July 10, 1948.

"We shall not allow the advance of society and economic well-being of the nation to be regulated and curtailed by the pace of the weakest bretheren among us. Proper incentives must be offered and full freedom given to the strong to use their strength in the commonweal. Initiative, enterprise, thrift, domestic foresight, contrivance, good housekeeping and natural ability must reap their just reward. On any other plan the population of this island will sink by disastrous and agonizing stages to a far lower standard of life and two-thirds of its present numbers." - Winston Churchill, speech, Blenheim Palace, August 4, 1947.

"The difference between what is seen and what is not seen was often noticed by the old economists. What is not seen is the infinite variety of individual transactions and decisions which, in a civilized society, within the framework of just and well-known laws, insure the advantage not only of the individual concerned, but of the community, and provide that general body of well-being constituting the wealth of nations. All this is blotted out by an over-riding State control, however imposing some of its manifestations may be. It is the vital creative impulse that that I deeply fear the doctrines and policy of the socialist Government have destroyed, or are rapidly destroying, in our national life. Nothing that they can plan and order and rush around enforcing will take its place. They have broken the mainspring, and until we get a new one the watch will not go." - Winston Churchill, speech, House of Commons, October 28, 1947.

"It is in the interest of the wage-earner to have many other alternatives open to him than service under one all-powerful employer called the State. He will be in a better position to bargain collectively and production will be more abundant; there will be more for all and more freedom for all when the wage earner is able, in the large majority of cases, to choose and change his work, and deal with a private employer who, like himself, is subject to the ordinary pressures of life and, like himself, is dependent upon his personal thrift, ingenuity and good-housekeeping." - Winston Churchill, speech, Blackpool, October 5, 1946

"Liberalism (classical liberalism) has its own history and its own tradition. Socialism has its own formulas and aims. Socialism seeks to pull down wealth; Liberalism seeks to raise up poverty. Socialism would destroy private interests; Liberalism would preserve private interests in the only way in which they can be safely and justly preserved, namely, by reconciling them with public right. Socialism would kill enterprise; Liberalism would rescue enterprise from the trammels of privilege and preference. Socialism assails the pre-eminence of the individual; Liberalism seeks, and shall seek more in the future, to build up a minimum standard for the mass. Socialism exalts the rule; Liberalism exalts the man. Socialism attacks capital; Liberalism attacks monopoly." - Winston Churchill, Kinnaird Hall, Dundee, May 14, 1908.

"The British nation now has to make one of the most momentous choices in its history. That choice is between two ways of life: between individual liberty and State domination: between concentration of ownership in the hands of the State and the extension of a property-owning democracy; between a policy of increasing restraint and a policy of liberating energy and ingenuity: between a policy of levelling down and a policy of finding opportunities for all to rise upwards from a basic standard." - Winston Churchill, speech in Woodford, England, January 28, 1950.

In the Year 2012, Romney and the GOP might be wise to consider the following gem from Churchill:

"We have to combat the wolf of socialism, and we shall be able to do it far more effectively as a pack of hounds than as a flock of sheep." - Winston Churchill, speech, 1937.

"Athough it is now put forward in the main by people who have a good grounding in the Liberalism and Radicalism of the early part of this century, there can be no doubt that Socialism is inseparably interwoven with Totalitarianism and the abject worship of the State. It is not alone that property, in all its forms, is struck at, but that liberty, in all its forms, is challenged by the fundamental conceptions of Socialism." - Winston Churchill, B.B.C radio address, June 4, 1945.

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent vice of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries." - Winston Churchill, House of Commons, October 22, 1945.

"Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy." - Winston Churchill, Perth, May 28, 1948.

"I do not wonder that British youth is in revolt against the morbid doctrine that nothing matters but the equal sharing of miseries: that what used to be called the submerged tenth can only be rescued by bringing the other nine-tenths down to their level; against the folly that it is better that everyone should have half rations rather than that any by their exertions, or ability, should earn a second helping." - Winston Churchill, London, June 22, 1948.

"Socialism is based on the idea of an all-powerful State which owns everything, which plans everything, which distributes everything, and thus through its politicians and officials decides the daily life of the individual citizen." - Winston Churchill, London, January 21, 1950.

"The British and Americans do not war with races or governments as such. Tyranny, external or internal, is our foe whatever trappings and disguises it wears, whatever language it speaks, or perverts." - Winston Churchill, Speech, Dorchester Hotel, London, July 4, 1953.

"You may try to destroy wealth, and find that all you have done is to increase poverty." - Winston Churchill, speech, House of Commons. March 12, 1947.

"Nor should it be supposed as you would imagine, to read some of the Left-wing newspaper, that all Americans are multi-millionaires of Wall Street. If they were all multi-millionaires that would be no reason for condemning a system which has produced such material results.: - Winston Churchill, speech, Royal Albert Hall, London. April 21, 1948.

"Rich men, although valuable to the revenue, are not vital to a healthy state of society, but a society in which rich men are got rid of, from motives of jealousy, is not a healthy state." - Winston Churchill, speech, House of Commons, April 24, 1950.

Is it possible the return of the White House Churchill bust at the beginning of the term was symbolic of the incoming President's rejection of Churchill's ideas, as so eloquently expressed above?

It doesn’t matter if it’s intentional or merely the outcome of someone completely detached from reality. The destruction is real either way.

Did it matter why the Towers fell?

The destruction is real either way, but was it done through stupidity or through coordinated efforts by domestic and foreign enemies?

Our thinking is still stuck in boxes marked: "America is Invincible!" "We're so BIG and Badassed no one will touch us EVER!" or stuck in the sand and we act like it.

We have forgotten Proverbs 16:18 "Pride Goeth Before Destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall" but the reminders keep coming.

Sometimes, not always, but sometimes if you look for the message in the events around you, you can avoid what they're trying to warn you about.

One of the best "show and tells" for that message is the book Cowards by Glenn Beck.

Say what you will about the author, his book is a Must Read, scarey as hell on earth, reality check.

That is why I think he is deliberately destroying America. To believe it is unintentional defies reason. The kinds of decisions he is called on to make can be equated to a multiple choice exam with at least two choices on each question and in some cases many more than two choices. I DEFY anyone to take a fifty or more question multiple choice on any subject about which you know absolutely nothing and make a zero on it! A little thought will tell you that you cannot possibly answer every question incorrectly unless you are very familiar with the subject, in a four choice exam you would expect to get around 25% correct simply by picking C on each question. Obama makes the wrong decision for America each and every time! Someone please explain how he can do that UNintentionally.
