Anderson County deputies said that a girl who was shot and killed during a home invasion Sunday night was participating in the crime when she was shot.

The shooting happened at 11:05 p.m. at 506 Burris St.

When deputies arrived at the home, they said they found the victim sitting near a gun and a woman lying on the ground with a bullet wound to the stomach.

The man told deputies that the three people forced him and his girlfriend onto the floor. He said that he was hit in the head with a gun after the group forced their way inside.

Deputies said that the man was held at gunpoint by the girl, while two men ransacked the home. They said that the man tackled the girl, and she was shot in the stomach during a struggle for the gun.

That one is better. But I’m not sure the details of who-knew-who-when make much difference in the moral outcome. Even if this turns out to be a reprisal for some earlier slight, what of it? Home invasion is a bad strategy for solving disputes. Lastly, a pawn pointing a gun at me is a villain.

If the homeowner had not resisted and killed the one with the gun to his head, would the homeowner and his girlfriend now be dead? Home invasions are one of the worst types of crimes and often end in serious injury and death.

The article look like a bad copy and paste job

It started the paragraph with “The man told deputies “ with out informing the reader who the man is. Apparently theres A man and woman at a house and 3 intruders (2 male and the female victim) came in. The girl held the man and the woman at gun point while the 2 other male ransacked the house

Sometimes we sin anyway.

Of course we do, but then we shouldn't blame others for the consequences of our actions. By chosing to participate in an armed robbery where the victim could easily have been murdered, she chose to be a potential murderer. In fact, it was only her bad luck and the victim's good luck that she was killed in struggling for the gun rather then her victim. You can be as sympathetic as you want, but I save my sympathies for the victim here, not the criminal.

On a similar note, do you sympathisize with Osama Bin Laden mass murderer of 2000? No? If not, where do you draw the line. Does someone who only murders a couple of people deserve sympathy? Does someone who tries to murder someone else but gets killed instead deserve sympathy? Not being a smart ass here genuinely want to know.

What I’ll pray for is for our great Country to be rid of scum like this. Any Holder’s people family connected in any violent crime, need to be one way tickets back to their Motherland.

How did the girl's father describe her?

He has to be identified first. And for 17 years baby-momma hasn't remembered a thing about that night. There were so many....

That's too bad because I haven't the time. You have my sympathies though.

Pointing a loaded gun at someone while said someone is being robbed is.... Hell, for the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone would get sore about that, even with the bonus of getting pistolwhipped and robbed thrown. The guy should have considered it an honor, his contribution to society. And should they have decided to kill him to eliminate witnesses, he should have been honored to do his part in fighting the overpopulation of the Earth.

But, as the old saying goes, "You gotta bring ass to get ass". She brought it but she was just a littil light in the ass department. And despite what the bleeding hearts say, I doubt that this was her firt rodeo.

When she got old enough she had to reproduce to keep the line moving - surprised the govt hasn’t counted young single pregnant girls as employed as a good many of them are bringing new welfare cases onto the roles..

Like the Kid says “Mama all the other kids in 6th grade have little ones, how come mine is so big, is it because I am Black”, No son, probably cause you are the only 18 yo in the class.

I also want to ‘go out on a limb’ here, but with the names Latitiah and Emani, one would kind of assume that she(they) is not of the Caucasian persuasion

It sounds like they have a pretty good idea who the two men were who joined her in the home invasion. No photo of the shooter--if he is white will he be charged with second-degree murder?

Since Congress won't vote for reparations, the home invaders apparently decided on a little self-help. But invading a trailer isn't likely to net them objects of great value. The girl was overpowered while the two men were in another room of the trailer--dumb of them to think that she could handle the situation when Kevin Pierce was undoubtedly larger and stronger. Not the safest thing for him to attack someone holding a gun on him but maybe he was ticked off at the fact they had broken into his home.

You have my sympathies though.

Since you have so much sympathy to spare maybe you could spread a little of it around to our external enemies like al qaeda as well as internal ones like this POS who was killed in the commission of an armed home invasion and maybe sympathize with 0bama if he doesn't get re-elected too.

The video at this story is the bigger issue. The mother of this unfortunate dead young girl seems to be wanting a Trayvon Martin - media response for the criminal actions of her daughter.

I hope she don,t get it, at the same time i do not see any point, as some are doing of the bashing of how the girl was raised, maybe and maybe not, people are what they are by nature, if that were not so we would be like a bunch of robots.

And we would still be killing each other.

"A participant in a home invasion, who was shot by the intended victim, happens to have been a 17-year-old female."?

Better.

Now, that’s from January 2009, and it says she was in the sixth grade. That’s pretty unusual, to be 13-14 years old and still in the sixth grade.

Maybe it is unusual, but i was 15 when i passed the seventh grade and felt lucky at that.
