Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez has declared himself fully recovered from cancer, three months before an election in which he is seeking another six-year term. 'Free, free, totally free,' he told reporters when asked if he had been given the all clear for the disease that was identified a year ago. The 57-year-old socialist leader was first diagnosed with cancer in the pelvic region in mid-2011.

Kidding aside; My father battled lung cancer for two years before the doctor gave him a clean bill of health. Four months later he learned it had metastasized in his liver and brain. Six months after the “all clear” he passed away.
Just sayin’.

I believe the standard is still 5 years before they declare you to be truly free of cancer.
Cuba has an advanced socialized medical system, so they can do that in 5 minutes.
I’ll just bet he’s “clear”...
As the husband of a 2 time cancer survivor, that's never the case. I remember asking her Oncologist after her first bout "when will she be cancer free?" He said, "when she's 95 and dies of a heart attack."
My point is, all it takes is one cell hiding somewhere in your body, waiting for orders to power on. Cancer sucks.....

Or, as my friend from Venezuela claims, he never had cancer to begin with. He says Venezuelans know that Chavez is FOS and this is all theater.

From what I’ve seen about his relationship with the truth, I am starting a death watch because he’s going keel over any day now.
I’d love to be holding the life insurance policy underwritten on his public assessment of his health.

Has anyone seen a recent photo or video of Hugo? Last I heard he was not allowing any photos or videos of his august personage.
I think Hugo is playing with the Venezuelans for fools before the October election. What if Dear Leader goes room temperature before the election? Is there a backup plan in place?
