A jury has found an 18-year-old man not guilty of a crime for carrying a loaded M-1 rifle as he walked through the downtown of an affluent Detroit suburb.

There is no race mentioned. I do believe that is how our reporters should report, however; if a caucasian combat Vet carried that loaded rifle down the streets of Detroit-I bet he would be in serious trouble.
The kid is white. In any case open carry is becoming common throughout Detroit.
Constitutional carry is the goal.
Time to follow up with a lawsuit for wrongful detention and malicious prosecution.
The way that ALL the stories are bing reported, you’d think his name is “Troy Teen”.
They all make a point of identifying him as a teenager.

I would guess if you walked down the street with an open carry / visible gun, you’re a target or a victim in Detroit.
Lots of folks are carrying openly and concealed in Detroit these days. It makes them no more of a target than anyone else.

The M-1 was carried by Allied troops in World War II, and by Americans during the Korean War. Tens of thousands of the .30-06-calibur rifle are in civilian hands.
