CNN on Friday surprisingly accused President Obama of "swiftboating" presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney with continuously false attacks regarding his service at Bain Capital.
The idea appears to have first been raised by CNN correspondent Jim Acosta during his interview with Romney on The Situation Room.
MITT ROMNEY: They announced early on, one of their insiders said that they -- their -- their campaign was going to be based upon the strategy of -- quote -- "kill Romney," end of quote. That's what they're doing. It's disgusting. It's demeaning. It's something which I think the president should take responsibility for and stop.
JIM ACOSTA, CNN: And do you believe you're being swiftboated in this campaign?

For it to be “swift boating” it needs to be true.
Exactly.
I hope Romney picks a VP that doesn’t have children. I’d hate to watch the commie ‘RATS and their fag toadies in the state run commie “media” rip more kids to shreds in order to get their Kenyan manchild reelected again. What those fags did to the Palin family was hateful and despicable. For the first time in my adult life, I was totally ashamed to call myself an American. The “media’s” hate and attacks against those innocent little kids was disgusting. David Letterman acted like a pig too! He can KMA.
The only thing the Swiftees demanded was that John Fraud Kerry release his military record DIRECTLY TO THE PUBLIC by signing Stand Form SF-180 in a manner granting the National Archives permission to do so.
To this day he has not done that. He has released partial records that passed through his hands first.
If he released his entire record we would learn that he received a dishonorable discharge from the Navy for wearing his uniform to anti-war protests, and that Jimmy Carter granted him a pardon for his crime.
Not just anti-war protests. He met with the N. Vietnamese in Paris to “negotiate” peace on his own. An act of treason.
The only connection I see is that both Kerry and Obama are liars, but that applies to most Democrats.
Thanks.
This is often confused, quite deliberately by the mainstream media, with "borking" which should be defined as "attack viciously a candidate or appointee, especially by misrepresentation in the media. According to William Safire in The New York Times.
Our mission on FreeRepublic should be to "Swift boat" the unworthy and to prevent the "borking" of the worthy.
Treason is a resume enhancer for a democrat.
..so why are we not “swiftboating” obama on his hidden papers, college transcripts, passports, etc.????
Letterman went from reasonably funny to a gap toothed Neanderthal...and what we have learned about his demeanor makes it all a farce. As for Mittens, he has to fight back and hard...tell the truth and smash King Bozo Oblong to bits.
For it to be swift boating it needs to be true.

Exactly....plus Obama would have to be experienced, well-educated...and moral.
I guess CNN will need to find another descriptive for his unethical tactics.
CNNs John King, David Gergen: Obama Campaign Bain Felony Attack is Just Not True; Gergen Three Key Obams Supporters at Bain Say Attack is Untrue; Obama is Playing a Very Rough Form of Politics. . . Is this what We were Promised? Video 7/13/12
I watched about 15 minutes of Letterman’s first show. I have not watched it since. He was never funny as far as I am concerned
Since Obummer “won” his way into office by the mysterious release of divorce records of his opponents, maybe it’s best that good-Mormon Romney has no such skeletons to unearth.
I’m no big fan of MY former governor (I’m still paying $100 to renew my pistol permit) but Romney is “cleaner” than Obummer would like.
Now, if Romney’s crew would only FIGHT a bit, this election could get interesting.
David Letterman, Whoopie Goldberg, Bill Maher, - 3 in a long list of people who never said a funny thing in their lives.
