RUMOR: Pit Bull VP Candidates (Chris Christie, Gingrich?) being considered to counter Obama attacks
July 15, 2012 | Ralph Mitchell

Could the Romney campaign be forced to consider Pit Bull candidates such as Chris Christie or Newt Gingrich to help the GOP go on offense against Obama's unfair, untrue Romney attacks? Milktoast candidates such as Pawlenty, Condi Rice, Portman, etc. may not fit the bill.

“A political animal is needed”

I disagree. How about a guy who speaks and stands for the truth regardless of the political consequences? I think Romney and his ever shifting positions are enough “political animal” for me. I think you will find the GOP is full of “political animals”.

I don’t remember her (Hillary) trying to force tyrannical government mandates down everyone’s throats.

WHAT????? You must be very young or very forgetful. Don’t you remember that Bill put Hillary over coming up with a National Health Plan and Congress rejected it?

Not the way Mitt and his team would look at it.

Newt is an unlikable, loose-cannon, motormouth by their standards.

Ha! Hadn’t thought of that.

Then again, ‘Tim’ is very weak as a candidate name—might still be better off with TPaw.

Palin, Newt, or West
******************************

I would be happy with any of the three. I wish but I don’t dare hope. My hopes for anyone to my liking to vote for have been dashed. I am resigned to ABO. That’s as good as it gets, I suppose.

And that's a bad thing?;-)

Problem with Gingrich is the debate moment when Romney pummelled him with “resigned in disgrace.” It’s on video and the Obama people would love to run the ads using it.

Gingrich could have defended himself more vigorously and we wouldn’t be having this discussion right now. :(

"That is conventional, inside-the-box thinking."

You're preaching to the choir. The American public wants "Camelot." It salivates over "hope and change." It focuses on good hair. It wants a free lunch, someone to put gas in their SUV, and make their mortgage payments. It votes for a "tingle up the leg," or a "magic negro." Thinking outside the box is not something the American public does when they pull that lever.

Now that would be a study of “REALPOLITIK”! The thing is, I think they would probably win!

I just don’t see how Romney would go for Palin, given the four years of destruction by proxy to which she has been subjected, by Romney. That aside, he will not be outshone, and she would do just that. He does not understand constitutional conservatives in general and the tea party in particular, so he is suspicious for one and incapable of grasping just what would elate “those people” for another.

I suspect he’d be afraid of getting Garfielded if all the above were to be worked out and surmounted. Face it, he and they think we’re nuts. We think he’s a hollow shell filled with nothing but ambition who will say and do anything to land himself in the White House, and will turn whichever way the wind blows once there, in order to hopefully remain there. His entire career supports this.

He won’t be choosing Palin. So, put that right out of your mind.

I’d love to see a pit bull VP, but that person would have to get Mitt to step it up. If the “pit bull” outshines the head of the ticket, it could be harmful. Palin was great but when McCain stood by her, he looked weak and the voter was left thinking, “why him and not her”.

Your thinking on West is sound.

I’m thinking he’ll pick Joe Lieberman.

(Sigh.)

I love this guy...and what I would do if I were him and the VP nominee is this: every single time a reporter attacks him, he should look the reporter in the eye and ask: “Is there any racism in that question?” It would fluster the libs and kick ‘em where it hurts.

Any GOP VP candidate will not qualify as a “pitbull” unless his descriptions of Barry frequently include “lying, murdering traitor,” “unnatural-born citizen,” and “hellspawn.”

Was there an individual mandate or not?

I haven’t been able to find anything that solidly points out an individual mandate in Hillarycare....but fine for argument’s sake....it contains one.

So now Romney and Hillary have consistent opinions when it comes to socialized healthcare.
