This should have told her - and everyone she answers to - everything they need to know about Egypt. It’s such a gigantic wakeup call that she refuses to see.
While it is clear that ingratitude toward “infidels” seems to be an “Islamic virtue”, you are assuming the protesters are Muslims.
Look at the signs: “Hamas will never rule Egypt” and “Egypt will never be Pakistan”. The slogans sound anti-Islamist. Alexandria being the seat of the Coptic Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria (and his Greek Orthodox counterpart, the Orthodox Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria) I suspect a lot of those protesters are Christians, who take a dim view of the Obama administration’s policy in Egypt for similar reasons to those that cause FReepers to take a dim view of that same policy.
The Copts — Christians whose country Egypt was before Mohammed ever darkened the world with his delusions — would not appreciate having their homeland turned into glass.
“These people” in this instance (see the video at post 33) are Coptic Christians who resent “our” State Department for turning their country over to Islamists.
I joined FR back when it was the only place to get straight news about the last ‘Rat president selling Eastern Christians into Islamic bondage, that time in the Balkans. Quite frankly anyone, American, Egyptian, Serb, Russian, Aussie, Brit, Frenchman,... *anyone* is welcomed in my book to show contempt toward American diplomats or politicians who push for the subjugation of Christians to Mohammedans. Such policies do not represent me, and do not represent American values, American ideals or American national interests. I cast a virtual shoe in the direction of Secretary Clinton and her boss.
