IPCC Admits Its Past Reports Were Junk
American Thinker ^ | July 16, 2012 | By Joseph L. Bast

On June 27, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a statement saying it had "complete[d] the process of implementation of a set of recommendations issued in August 2010 by the InterAcademy Council (IAC), the group created by the world's science academies to provide advice to international bodies."

Hidden behind this seemingly routine update on bureaucratic processes is an astonishing and entirely unreported story. The IPCC is the world's most prominent source of alarmist predictions and claims about man-made global warming. Its four reports (a fifth report is scheduled for release in various parts in 2013 and 2014) are cited by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the U.S. and by national academies of science around the world as "proof" that the global warming of the past five or so decades was both man-made and evidence of a mounting crisis.

While they are at it, they should go ahead and admit that their present and future reports are junk too.

They've been ignoring "skeptics" from early on - from a 1996 review of the 1995 IPCC report:

This is a direct PDF select text, copy and paste from text which appears "normal" - I'll edit it and post shortly the "corrected" version - what's up with this?

The following passageas re exampleso f thosei ncludedi n the approvedr eport but deletedf rom the supposedlyp eer-reviewedp ublishedv ersion: -- "None of the studies cited above has shown clear evidence that we can attribute the observed [climate] changesto the specific causeo f increasesin greenhouseg ases." -- "No study to date has positively attributed all or part [of the climate change observed to date] to anthropogenic[m an-made]c auses." -- "Any claims of positive detection of significant climate change are likely to remain controversial until uncertaintiesin the total naturalv ariability of the climate systema re reduced." The reviewing scientistsu sedt his original languaget o keept hemselvesa nd the IPCC honest.I am in no position to know who madet he major changesin Chapter8 ; but the report'sl ead author,B enjamin D. Santer, must presumably take the major responsibility.

Corrected text (For context, remember that this is way back in 1996 - questioning the IPCC practices that only now are acknowledged, if only in the nature of a footnote):
The following passages are examples of those included in the approved report but deleted from the supposedly peer-reviewed published version:
-- "None of the studies cited above has shown clear evidence that we can attribute the observed [climate] changes to the specific cause of increases in greenhouse gasses."
-- "No study to date has positively attributed all or part [of the climate change observed to date] to anthropogenic [man-made] causes."
-- "Any claims of positive detection of significant climate change are likely to remain controversial until uncertainties in the total natural variability of the climate system are reduced."

The reviewing scientists used this original language to keep themselves and the IPCC honest. I am in no position to know who made the major changes in Chapter 8; but the report's lead author, Benjamin D. Santer, must presumably take the major responsibility.

Yeah. My grandmother died of the horrible deadly Spanish influenza epidemic in early 1919. I found out that any flu vaccine is made from last year's flu.

I never have, and will NOT allow anyone to inject that crap into my body! Where have these injections ever diminished this year's influenza statistics??!!
