In the time it took a group of U.S. athletes to get to the Olympic Park from Heathrow Airport they could have reached the birthplace of the games in Greece. While Heathrow officials were crowing how well they handled their busiest day ever, the four hour bus ride for the athletes from the airport to the Athletes Village showed the logistical challenges London Olympic officials have to overcome.

The explanation for the traffic jam the other day was that London’s road system is so *efficient* that one little mishap just wrecks the whole thing.

I visited relatives in England many years ago. They picked me up at Gatwick and then proceeded north through London to get back to the Midlands. We got on the M25 and went around London in a circle 3 times. They said they don’t like to drive in London because it’s a mess. (No chit!)
I would like to hear from English folks living in London as they see the situations.
I think it would be interesting to hear their take on events.
