During the time that President Obama has been in office, he has earned some $2,711,340 from foreign sources. Thats 30.1 percent of Obamas total income during that time. During that period, Obama forked over $87,429 to foreign countries. Most of that cash comes from book sales. Thats an inordinately large amount of money coming from overseas far more than the typical American, certainly. And the question becomes whether President Obama is outsourcing his book sales. After all, why not pay American tax rates on that income? Why not ship from the United States, rather than printing abroad?

$2,711,340 certainly buys a lot of books. At $25 a pop, that’s over 108,454 copies. Soros’ library must be packed to the Mezzanine....
Kinda reminds me of former Speaker of the House Jim Wright.
Soros?
I thought Baraq was the best selling author of all time in Saudi Arabia?
Ooops. I need to run my calculator again. That's 433,814 copies.
A classic example of a distinction without a difference.
;^)
Obama didn’t write that book on his own.
Sure.......and monkeys might fly out of my butt.
Not surprising. He raised a sizeable sum of illegal contributions from foreign donors in Europe and the Middle East for his 2008 scampaign.
How many copies did George $oros buy to help Obama get a best seller in an autobiography about a man who hadn’t done anything yet and was described in press releases as Kenyan born?
LMAO!!!
They don't really deliver the books. Its just a way to pass money to him. Clinton did this too. I remember seeing an article that either he or Hillary had "sold" hundreds of thousands more books than were actually printed.
It was such drivel, the typesetters here refused to finish it. So he went overseas to find typesetters who didn’t understand English.
These sales numbers do not surprise me with a book of this kind (by an American president). Sometimes the foreign rights make it possible for the publisher to actually make a good profit on the book. (Obama’s books would have been profitable anyway, of course.) The foreign rights are sold to many different countries and the book is printed in many languages.
As for printing the books here, that kind of shipping of vast quantities of books hasn’t been done since the 19th century. Harper Brothers, founded in 1817, used to ship all its books in from England. Then the lightbulb went off and they realized they could save tons of money by printing them here—the beginning of American book publishing.
