Shock Poll: 69 Percent of Young People Favor Universal Tax Cuts
Fox News ^ | 7/16/12 | Ron Meyer, Young America's Foundation

Young Americans love tax cuts--even for the wildly successful. A new McClatchy-Marist poll revealed 69 percent of young people (ages 18-29) favor tax cuts for all Americans, while only 29 percent oppose. The wealth redistribution and "fairness" rhetoric coming from both academia and the Obama administration seems to be failing. Young Americans like financial and personal freedom. And, maybe they like jobs too. Private sector businesses--not the federal government--employ young people, and every government spending stimulus has led to economic stagnation for America's youth. In contrast, the Kennedy, Reagan, and Bush tax cuts led to nearly immediate job growth for young Americans.

they are too young to know what life and taxes are all about. Give them a few years scratching out a living in the real world and the numbers will be reversed, IMO.

FLAT TAX!

10% across the board- no exceptions

government workers DO NOT pay taxes, since they are paid FROM taxes

and the government MUST balance the budget with only the funds raised through this tax, and apply 10% towards back dept or saved for future

... there, anything else I can solve?

I don’t know how the kids do it, but with all the propaganda they are exposed to, they still get things right more often than I would expect them to.

The one lesson the Democrats can’t spin, is the one taught when kids see their first paycheck.

“I only get to take home that?”

Yep, welcome to the grim Democrat reality... Now, if you like what this take home looks like, vote for Democrats the rest of your life.

“is the one taught when kids see their first paycheck.”

Who is this “FICA” and why are they taking money out of my check?

When my son saw his first check, he couldn’t believe how much of it was taken before he got a dime. He had already figured out how many hours he worked times his pay rate and was expecting much more.

My response was, “Welcome to reality. Now, you can impact whether these deductions get bigger or smaller, by watching who advocates for raising them and who advocates for reducing them. Support those who advocate for reducing them.”

I could have spent a decade trying to talk sense into him. That first paycheck did the job for me. Love it!

Why should we continue to pay an income tax? How is it good to penalize people for success? Why should people give a tenth of their earnings to pay for the federal leviathan at its current size?

This makes no sense from a Conservative standpoint.

There was an episode of Friends in which Rachel has to get a job; when she gets her first paycheck, she excitedly opens the envelope. Her face falls, and she blurts out "who's FICA?"

Pop quiz: does a store that wants to raise revenue
a) hike their prices and drive away its customers or
b) lower their prices by holding a sale and get higher revenue through increased sales volume?

Why can't we use that analogy to educate the public?

Huh? Why would anybody want more taxes?

The thing is that they have also got to want small government, which I doubt most of them do.
