LOL He really made them scramble!
So funny when one fell out the door and another one ran over him.
Were they Holder’s people?
Couldn’t see much because of the hoodies and masks, but the hands looked like they were.

Took enough shots but missed.

Wrong! He HIT...three times. Here is an excerpt from the news story.

Dawkins had a superficial wound in his left arm, but Henderson was shot in two places: his left buttock and his right hip.

Point. Were the perpetrators still in possession of their arms? If so, would they not still pose a threat, in spite of the fact that they were in retreat?.

CCW 101 is you shoot to stop the threat, and as they were falling over one another to get away the threat had already been stopped.

That's true. If you go chasing the perps, at least here in the Peoples Rep of CT, the cops now consider YOU the threat. It sucks and the laws are most certainly written for the bad guys, but that's the law here.

So you are all for letting criminal get away to victimize others another day?

At what point would you break off the pursuit and let the police or courts take over? In this case, the guy didn't leave the scene and give chase so I would think he'll be ok.

Even in the best of circumstances, in the most righteous of shoots, you can expect to lose your life savings clearing your name.

That old fart did very well.

I wouldn’t have taken that last shot out the door, but as long as that POS was in the building-in control of a gun that he had already pointed at innocent folks, the gun fight was still on.

That old man saved innocent lives by his actions.

Too bad the bad guys aren’t dead.

Let’s keep an eye on what happens to this fine old fellow and make a collection if he has any legal troubles.

Personally, I would like to buy him a beer... or a whole keg...

More info here:

Strip mall casino patron shoots would-be robbers multiple times

"Investigators said Smith struck DuWayne Henderson, 19, of Ocala three times, twice in the buttocks and once in the arm. Davis Dawkins, 19, was struck in the upper chest."

Here is more from the news story in which one of the robbers WHINES about being thwarted in their attempt:

"I feel horrible. It doesn't feel good. It makes you think about life's decisions, and how you should live your life," Henderson said in an interview with the Star-Banner at the jail on Saturday afternoon.

Hours after his release from the hospital, Henderson, who talked about the pain he feels in his buttock and hip, said the plan was to "barge in, get the money and leave." He said "he never expected anyone to be armed."

"The gun was broken and rusty and wasn't loaded. Nobody was going to get hurt," he said, standing with crutches.

HE KEPT MOVING TO THE FIGHT. He stayed engaged until the threat was no longer a threat. Technique discussions aside, he won the fight by being the better MAN!

Good analysis.

I'm sure gentleman who fought back will be upgrading the caliber of his weapon shortly.

I think what would be fun to do is convert a Glock to .50 GI.

You can get the conversion for about $600 from this company for the Glock 20/21.

More on the .50 GI round here.

They released one of these vermin already!

I can’t believe it.

“Henderson remained in the Marion County Jail late Monday in lieu of a $31,000 bond. Dawkins was released Sunday after posting an $11,000 bond.”

Anybody know what state this was in? I would no-bill him if I were on the jury.

Florida. Gainsville.com and Ocala.com? The Villages retirement community is between those cities.

Ocala, Florida.
State Road 200 just West of I-75
http://www.ocala.com/article/20120713/ARTICLES/120719846

Henderson said he had a rusty unloaded gun. “STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES”
Hours after his release from the hospital, Henderson, who talked about the pain he feels in his buttock and hip, said the plan was to “barge in, get the money and leave.” He said “he never expected anyone to be armed.”
Henderson and others take note: this is FLORIDA, sometime it maybe a 75YO gray haired lady! Like my SIL, who lives in Ocala.

Excellent.
At 32 seconds in the video you see him (Good guy-GG) rolling his chair out and at 33 you can see his gun is already drawn
At 34-35 seconds he is rapidly approaching the Bad Guy (BG1) initial from behind, BG1 spins and sees him coming with drawn gun and BG1 starts moving and a shot is fired.
At 36 seconds BG1 is sprinting and lady by stander is now covering ears (obviously 1st shot has already taken place)
At 37-38 seconds you see him take another shot at BG1 (now off camera) or possibly BG2 standing in the corner
At 39-40 a new angle as BG1 is falling (shot in hip/leg?) Notice our GG had clear field of fire...no one behind BG1 or BG2 at this point. BG2 is in corner and follows BG1.
At 42 you see GG coming into camera view following BGs with gun at ready
At 43 you see him take a shot with a second at 44.
Camera angle swithes and you see these last two shots again in the door way.
Way to go good guy!

“”The gun was broken and rusty and wasn’t loaded. Nobody was going to get hurt,” he said, standing with crutches.”

It’s still armed robbery. And, just as an aside, if you make people *think* you have a gun, you’d better *have* a gun.

A .380 just isn’t enough!

A head shot or a throat shot would have done the trick.

10mm. Hornady 180gr XTP. 15 rounds.

There wouldn't be an arrest report. Just a coroners receipt.
