Results from Libya's first elections after the overthrow of Col Gaddafi have shown gains for an alliance of parties seen as broadly liberal.

The National Forces Alliance, led by interim Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril, has won 39 out of the 80 seats reserved for political parties, local media say.

The Muslim Brotherhood's party has gained 17.

The 200-member National Assembly will also include dozens of independent candidates.

So far, this is good news for pro-western political parties in Libya and bad news for Hillary, President Buckwheat, the commie state department and the two or three Soros trolls here on FR who wanted the Muslim Brotherhood to win.

The biggest pro-western, pro-free enterprise militia group in Libya is solidifying power.

Exactly so. Prime Minister Jibril was educated in the USA at the University of Pittsburgh and as a member of the Kadaffy government he promoted free market privatization policies.

When Tripoli citizens were interviewed after the civil war, it was discovered that businesses were making plans to turn Tripoli into a second “City of Gold” to rival Dubai.

For those unfamiliar with the Middle East, Dubai has about 800 gold shops in the city. In Dubai’s souk commercial district, there’s about 300 gold shops in a half-kilometer area. Tourists from Europe and the Middle East pack the area to find incredible gold deals. About 25 tons of gold as necklaces, bracelets and rings are for sale in the souk at any time. The prices are set twice daily. If you don’t like the price in the morning, try in the afternoon. About 90% of all gold sold is 24 karat. No VAT tax. Sharp buyers can find gold pieces at 40% less than in the west.

Looked him up and he seems like a good guy and he should run the country for a couple of years. Libya might turn out okay but remember this is the Middle East we are talking about.
