ANTI-ISRAEL BOMBER IN BULGARIA WAS RELEASED FROM GITMO THANKS TO LEFT

By WILLIAM BIGELOW

Leftists who hate Israel can rejoice; their efforts at securing the release of a Gitmo detainee and their subsequent lionizing of him allowed him to murder five Israelis in the bombing Wednesday in Burgas, Bulgaria.

The bomber has been identified as Mehdi Ghezali, who was detained at Gitmo Bay in Cuba from 2002 to 2004.

According to Wikileaks documents, Ghazali was “uncooperative, unforthcoming and deceptive during interrogations.”

His father had met with Abdolrahman Barzanjee, an Al Qaeda associate and possible Ansar Al-Islam coordinator for Europe (Ansar Al-Islam is a group of Sunni Muslims trying to turn Iraq into an Islamist state), and Ghazali was friends with a Swedish operative who was a close associate of Abu Zubadayah, a high-ranking official with Al Qaeda.

With all the help Ghezali received from the liberal media and liberal governments, it’s obvious they have blood on their hands. But the blood is Israeli, so don’t expect the Left to shed a single tear.

The Bush Doctrine that United States had the right to secure itself against countries that harbor or give aid to terrorist groups would seem to apply in this case.

I would think that the family of the victims killed by this terrorist would at least have a civil case against the Swedish Government.

Perhaps bombing Jewish people was a condition of his release?

The id of the suspect is still unclear.

Swedish and Bulgarian officials denied Thursday that Mehdi Ghezali, a Swedish citizen of Algerian descent, is responsible for the attack against Israelis in Bulgaria a day earlier.

Ghazali was “uncooperative, unforthcoming and deceptive during interrogations.”

Sounds like he's ready to step up and take over as US Attorney General when Eric Holder goes to prison.

I saw that report too. Not sure what to make of that. I guess we have to wait for DNA samples. But I hope it is the guy.

But he was released in 2004, "The Buck Stops Here."

If he’s a Gitmo grad with ties to Pakistan, that would seem to suggest al-Qaeda, not Iran. Also, suicide bombing is more a Sunni tradition than an Iranian or Shia thing. Of course, I guess Iran could hire a loose terrorist to do their dirty work, but I’d think first about some Salafist movement.

It would not be surprising if there were to be some kind of Israeli payback, obvious or less so.

I think that Hezbollah did have quite a number of suicide bombers in South Lebanon, when fighting the IDF, but that was rather a different conflict.

This individual does appear to have the Al-Qadai/Sunni/Gulf Arab affiliation which leads away from Iran. If he is an Algerian militant, then it is quite possible he has spent time in Libya - that’s where they go, as Algeria is too dangerous for them.

[Sounds like he's ready to step up and take over as US Attorney General when Eric Holder goes to prison.]

Holder was a senior partner in Covington & Burling, an international law firm that represents 17 past and current Guantanamo detainees.

The phrase “blood on their hands” applies to every bleeding heart who pressured the government to release Gitmo detainees, not just the scum-bag lawyers and professional activists. Ideas have consequences - sometimes horrific consequences. Someone in the GOP needs to call out the hypocrites who sit smugly in their wealthy suburbs and ignore the consequences of their misguided liberal “compassion”.
