Was Barack Obama married when he attended college?
If not, then why do photographs of him at Occidental College and in New York City in the years when he was supposed to have attended Columbia University show him wearing a ring on the ring finger of his left hand?
First, consider the photograph of Obama taken with his grandparents, Stanley and Madelyn Dunham, on a park bench in front of Central Park, most likely along Fifth Avenue, as seen in Exhibit 1

The ring is much clearer in photographs of Obama taken by Lisa Jack at Occidental College in Los Angeles. Two of Jack’s photographs, which were published by Time after the 2008 election, clearly show Obama with a ring on the ring finger of his left hand.

People from different (ahem) cultures wear wedding rings on different fingers/ hands. I once was in Kazakhstan as a younger woman. Men followed me everywhere, and even banged on my hotel room door all night.
Finally a dear Kazakh lady told me that wearing a ring on your left ring finger means you are open and willing.
