Wasn’t it just a bunch of fireworks that he had rigged to some wires? Lets go to Def Con 4 over it.

Certainly the police had to find something - would make them look pretty foolish if they didn’t after all the hype and we couldn’t have that. The press is more than willing to blow all of this out of proportion and come up with a week’s worth of TV broadcasts based on a simple phrase or word such as “might contain” or “reportedly”.

This took the heat off of Huma Abedin and Erica Groshen, the real terrorist and communist.

When the forest fires were consuming residential neighborhoods in Colorado Springs, the spokes hole for the Forest Service constantly complimented their own work. I heard the term “brothers and sisters” so much that I started to question the presentations.

I see the same stuff going on now.

I hope you were being sarcastic. A water based disruption device is an extreme high velocity blast tool that physically dismembers a device before it can detonate.
In many cases it can work, and this appears to be one.

But if it went off, aimed at you, it could rip an arm off your body, or cut you in half. It’s not a “water gun”.

In action, watch how it cuts through steel.

And you _know_ it was just a bunch of fireworks how? And you know the “fireworks” are original and not modified to be far more dangerous, how? And you know the 30 firework mortar shells are not designed to grab your attention away from the 20 pounds of C4 in the TV set, or the 200 lbs of ANFO in the closet,,how?

You are sure ready to play fast and loose with those cops lives. The truth is, nobody could be sure what was in there, and simply walking in and playing “lethal weapon” red wire/green wire was certain to kill or badly injure some cop. Slow, deliberate caution was the proper approach here. I cannot think of a single reason to speed it up that is worth a needless death or maiming.

I’ll take your word for what happened there, because it looked like a propane cannister exploded. I didn’t see a blast of water or a device disgorging it.

There’s some really odd denial here about getting to the bottom of what this guy is and was doing. Not the dive-in forensic folks I remember.

Id be amazed if you could see it. It fires too fast to be caught on anything except a very high speed video cam a scientist uses.
It looked like the propane tank exploded because it was hit with a ‘watergun” that has a muzzle velocity of around 14,000fps. To put that in perspective, thats almost 5 times as fast as a rifle bullet.
The water sliced through the steel of the tank, ripping it to shreds. Had there been a detonator on it, it would have been sliced and ripped into pieces before it could have fired.

Great to use on IEDs. But still incredibly dangerous to the people who must decide where to use it, where to place it, and when it’s a bad idea.

Nice video. You can see the water splashes on the cement wall after the fact. And I believe during the Joker Batman movie, the cops got beat up pretty bad by under estimating the joker.

They ended up using a water jet to disarm it. So much for the ultra sophisticated explosive system.
