I’ve been asked to comment on the theater massacre. I think there is just one cause; a crazy shooter with God only knows what, going through his brain. Unfortunately discussions will go far and wide from this obvious fact and range from gun control to societal issues. So here are my thoughts. I think societal issues led up to this massacre. I’m not going to spend much time on gun control other than to say I am firmly for our second amendment, no exceptions. I blame our obsession with political correctness, the destruction of the family and the lack of God in our society. I read a child’s quote where he asked God, why do you allow all this violence in our schools? God replied, I’m not allowed in schools. Just substitute the public square for schools and you have America in 2012. A godless society is a society without a moral compass. And then there’s political correctness; you can’t speak the truth…plain and simple. You want some truth? Natalie Holloway would be alive today if her friends were responsible and didn’t allow her to go off with a stranger. The massacre at Columbine probably wouldn’t have happened if Harris and Klebold’s parents had done their job and gone down into their rooms to see what they were doing. You want more truth? How about we’re going to find out real soon how mentally disturbed the theater shooter was. His mother reportedly said “that sounds like my son” when contacted by police. Could this be another case of parenting decisions gone wrong? Time will only tell how the role of kids’ rights and medical records privacy rules might have changed the outcome.
I have noted one outstanding prominence of somehow nobama and holder”s people trying vainly to commandeer it as some white supremacist anti-black triad. I was astounded to have seen the list of those shot and find them none black.
Now everyone knows that the dems have only the race card now, but this is even shocking to the degree which they now stoop.

Crazy, deranged, mentally ill. We need to stop that language. Every piece of evidence shows that he was fully aware his actions were illegal and evil. Every piece of evidence shows that he consciously chose to do evil. He consciously chose to sin.
The gunman was funded by the NIH.
What went wrong at NIH?
Stop all NIH activity until a study independent of NIH and its parent organizations determines what went wrong at NIH.

Excuse me, but you seem to have a personal issue.
I DON’T know your wife, but I can tell you this, my boss and my office were the ONLY Psych’s office that would treat Adult Home patients on the west side of Cleveland. People like your wife would do their best, to treat and care for people in those homes. We worked together with families. I’m not sure what is going on with you, but perhaps with your talk of passing bread and unbridled glee (hahaha) you should look into a bit of treatment.
Oh and I made a big 10.00 an hour because short of Peds, Psychs are the lowest paid doctors of all. Get over yourself.

Depends on if mom truly believes he'll become a mass murderer.
As for how to stop mass murderers generally, if ten percent of the audience was carrying, forty people would have been pouring lead into the sunuvabitch before he could get off his second shot.
And the NEXT crazy bastard would know about that and think twice before he shot people.

I hope I’m reading this wrong. I don’t think you’re suggesting that mom shoot her son, but that’s the way it reads.
As for mom truly believing he has the potential to be a mass murderer, I knew a mom like this. Her son knifed a couple people then killed himself. She had BEGGED the police to take him away (multiple times) because he had threatened to do harm to himself and others. He would be hauled off to the Psych Ward and let go after the legal three days. The police knew he was a threat but their hands were tied unless he actually hurt someone. He did.
Which raises a question. Just supposing you were in this situation, like in Aurora, an armored up crazy shooting people. Where are the weak points - if you had CCW, where would you aim ? (Assuming for sake of argument that there was no danger to anyone else present). Homes had body armor, crotch armor, head protection so, again, where's the weak points so you wouldn't be committing suicide to take him on? Reminds me somewhat of that episode in Calfornia where two bank robbers were "immune" to police firepower until a sniper got a neck shot.

The entire idea of singles bars is to meet a stranger and go off with him.
Yep, because he knew that THEY had guns with which to shoot his sorry rear end.
Another armed person may not be able to KILL the gunman, but from what I understand, it HURTS to get shot, even with body armor. By shooting the gunman, you can at least take his focus off the unarmed people and on to yourself, giving the others time to either get away, or get something between themselves and the gunman.
And if there were ANOTHER armed person, while the focus was on the first 'responder', the next person could take a shot. That would certainly keep the gunman guessing as to just who ELSE might be armed.
