While President Obama's fundraiser at Oakland's Fox Theater will be the marquee event during his East Bay fundraising swing Monday, the big financial players will be at the Piedmont home of Wayne Jordan and Quinn Delaney, who have quietly become two of California's major campaign donors.
[...]
A centerpiece of the couple's community work is the Akonadi Foundation in Oakland. Delaney, a lawyer and activist, founded the organization 12 years ago and serves as its president, while Jordan is its secretary-treasurer.
Fighting racism The foundation, which funds grassroots organizations, supports "a racial justice movement that can finally put an end to ... structural racism," which it defines on its website as "how history and culture have allowed the privileges associated with 'whiteness' and the disadvantages associated with 'color' to endure, adapt and accumulate over time."
Jordan and Delaney contribute most of the funding to the foundation and are not paid, according to federal tax documents.
The Akonadi Foundation has funded Californians United for a Responsible Budget, an Oakland group that fights prison expansion; the People's Grocery, which works to increase fresh food for residents in West Oakland; and Asian Communities for Reproductive Justice, an Oakland organization.

A cursory glance yields this information: they're pro-abortion, pro-LBGT, pro-illegal immigration.
Why they're targeting the Asian community, which seems to be good at training up its youth to lead wholesome and productive lives, is baffling. Trying to weaken their tendency to vote conservative, maybe? Nip things in the bud?
I’m shaking my head and saying what the hell to all of this! Whiteness? I...... just can’t speak!
They sound like a bunch of race pimps to me. I can see where they’d be backing Barry.
Most Asians in the US vote Democrat actually.
Bay Area has become center of the cesspool.
I'd like to see your sources on that. I find that hard to believe. Many Asians that I know are conservative, and many are Republicans. Among Asians, I think more Chinese and Japanese are conservative than is the case for Filipino and others. And there are a lot of Chinese-Americans.
... Asian Americans voted Republican and were the only racial group more conservative than whites in the 1990s, according to surveys.
... Overall, Asian Americans as a whole tend to vote for Democrats, but this trend has been fairly recent. As recently as 2000 polling number had difficulty determining Asian American voter affiliation. With some polls indicating a tendency to vote Republican, while other polls indicated a trend to vote Democrat. Due to the smaller size of the groups population, in comparison to the population as a whole, it remains difficult to get an adequate sampling to forecast voter outcomes for Asian Americans.
I think the real answer is unknown.
So they back the man that creates racial strife on every issue. WTF?
You got that right.
Well now, back in the mid-sixties I served aboard the USS PIEDMONT and there is no way this conservative would back and vote for a non-citizen for President!
An emerging force in the push to oblivion.
Piedmont used to be a more solidly Republican town back in the 1970s. I wonder what happened. I think (speculation) the people who originally lived there, who made their money because they owned or built businesses (or were a generation or two removed from such), died or moved away, and were replaced by people who had made their fortunes in the FIRE (finance, insurance, real estate) industries. The FIRE industries are (I am being very cynical) more parasitic and therefore more political in nature, so they tend to attract liberals and “progressives.” The people who used to live in Piedmont have since moved to the wealthier areas of Contra Costa County. Their replacements are arriviste and crass and have greasy palms.
Looks like they are trying to mainstream being gay or transgender at least that is what I read of it. Why are they pushing all this crap though. When I went to school they had sex ed but it wasn’t anything like this. I think they are just trying to make people think it is all ok.
clemenza is right
YOU look it up
Unfortunately, the FIRE people as you call them, are starting to find their way over the Berkeley hills and are starting to infest Contra Costa as well.
And the Central Valley is just too darned hot for me!
Yes it is. Common sense left a long time ago.
This is odd given that after a career of 30 years in the department of defense contracting business, with stellar performance appraisals, I was laid off so the company could keep more minotities and women. I thought owebama and his supporters were for “fairness?” I guess its just steath reparations.
