A gunman who opened fire on an officer at the end of a stolen-car pursuit was killed in Anaheim's second fatal officer-involved shooting in two days, authorities said The shooting climaxed an incident that began around 11:20 p.m. Sunday, when anti-gang officers spotted a known gang member on probation in what they soon determined was a stolen car, Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn said. They were pursuing the vehicle when the driver lost control on on West Guinida Lane, and two men and a woman bailed.

“The officers were in foot pursuit for about a half-block when one male suspect fired at the officers,” Dunn said.

“The officers returned fire, striking the suspect, who was dead at the scene.”

A gun was found next to the body, he said, adding that the second male suspect was detained, but the female got away, and a perimeter search for her was under way. It was not immediately determined if the suspect who fired on officers was the gang member on probation, Dunn said.

---------------------- ANAHEIM – Two police officers have been placed on paid leave after one of them fatally shot an unarmed man as he attempted to flee on foot in a residential alleyway, police Chief John Welter said Sunday.

The shooting victim, 25-year-old Manuel Angel Diaz of Santa Ana, was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 7 p.m. Saturday after being shot in the alley a few blocks northeast of downtown Anaheim.

Police described Diaz as a "documented gang member," and said he was shot after the officers saw three men near a car in the 600 block of Anna Drive, near La Palma Avenue and State College Boulevard. Believing the activity to be suspicious, the officers approached the vehicle, and all three men fled on foot.

The officers...

The payoff from certain GOP fools who used to say "family values don't stop at the Rio Grande". Some of us can remember when north Orange County was still part of the USA, no thanks to the treason lobby who believe that ethnic pandering is more important than deporting illegals.

Gee, Pel, I wonder if they're from Loretta's side of the tracks, or Ed or Gary's?

Spent many moons trying to convince B-1 Bob that massive illegal immigration was not a great idea for SoCal. He didn't believe it until Loretta cheated him out of his job!

Seriously, 4 cops on leave ... that's not good now that Anaheim is a "border town."

Anaheim: Mexican enemies within

Tampa: Black enemies within

Both "communities" fighting police and defending violent criminals.

This is almost the exact same way the nationwide riots in Britain started last August.

1. Gang-banger gets capped by the police;
2. Angry mob descends on a police precinct, and race card gets thrown around;
3. Police botch the response to the mob presence, and it’s Game On for the looters/arsonists.

It’s Loretta’s district. Those are her people, and would be citizens instead of illegals if GHWB’s treasonous idiot of a son had had his way.

I think Gary Miller’s district moved way to the east, by Corona.

Police described Diaz as a "documented gang member"

So, if Diaz is found to be in this country illegally, would he be referred to as an "undocumented documented gang member"?

Some of us can remember when north Orange County was still part of the USA, no thanks to the treason lobby who believe that ethnic pandering cheap labor is more important than deporting illegals winning elections.

Fixed.

Yeah you’re right, the gangbangers of that neighborhood are just misunderstood and innocent victims of police tyranny. /sarc

Of course if the homies think that you belong to the wrong tribe they’ll kill you quicker than the police that you evidently fear.

And this a normal week end in LA.

Recently spent a lot of time in Anaheim and East LA for work.

Totally different than the reasonably well integrated suburban middle class neighborhoods when I was there in the 80’s.

Entire cities are Balkanized Ethnic enclaves of Hispanics, Blacks and Asians and in places where Hispanics dominate English is the second language.

The checkout lines at Wal Mart are packed with non English speaking Hispanics, and about 90% of them were paying for their purchases with California's distinctive Welfare EBT card.

There is a strong presence of violent gangs, many of which are part of or affiliated with the same violent Mexican drug cartels that are killing thousands across the border.

I feel sorry for the police that have to patrol those areas because it's probably leaving the green zone in Iraq than entering into some of those neighborhoods if you are a cop because the gang members are openly hostile and aggressive to the police .

California is a poster child for our failed social policies.

Don't want to be anywhere near those cities when the welfare checks stop coming and the EBT accounts getting their monthly cash transfers.

Since California and the rest of the country are out of other peoples money that day may be coming sooner than later.

Back in the late ‘90s, I was driving OTR commercial truck.

Had a delivery appointment in South Central LA, a furniture warehouse. Got talking with the guys loading my truck.

As I drove into the area, I saw several burnt-out buildings. Off the cuff, I asked about them. I was told they were remnants of the ‘92 riots, and they were left standing and blackened, as reminders. I never got an answer as to a reminder of what, exactly...

I don't get this article?
  1. Stealing a car is illegal
  2. A gang-banger on probation being in a stolen car is illegal
  3. Fleeing the Police is illegal
  4. Shooting at the Police is definitely illegal
So how could any of this have happened? It's all, 'Against The Law'.

And I'm sure the gun the bangers used wasn't bought at Bass Pro Shops, so having that gun was 'illegal too'. And since we all know that more laws solve everything (right Bloomie?), this couldn't have happened. It's impossible because of all 'The Laws'.

I think they made this whole thing up. Just trying to make us think criminals don't obey 'The Law'.
