Well, if the cops strike, then the 75% of people that DON’T have guns already will just have to buy them, in order to protect themselves.

And, by the way, the cops are more likely to go on strike if new laws are passed against guns. They generally do not fear responsible gun-owning citizens.

Exactly what rights does Bloomie think the little people should have? We can't choose what size soft drink we want to consume, and we can't exercise our First Amendment rights? Is there anything he trusts us to do?

Totalitarian liberals of all kinds disgust me. Soviet Socialists disgust me. National Socialists disgust me. Democratic Socialists disgust me. The socialists in today's far left "democrat" party disgust me. The similarities among these groups are broad and the differences incredibly minor. Socialists by nature want government power over individuals, and the outcome is never pretty - especially if they are able to disarm the people.

If the cops go on strike we might actually start to regain some of our lost Constitutional freedoms.

Effective portable long guns have been around for over 500 years. Loaded with multiple heavy shot as a "blunderbuss," they were the deadly "assault weapons" of their era: especially when you consider the poor state of medical care for trauma and infection post wounding.

The 2nd Amd has been around for 220 years. Multiple-shot handguns are 150 years old. Semi-auto "assault rifles" are 80 years old. Yet there were no maniac massacres to speak of.

What has changed is the culture. Dark, nihilistic movies with evil but charismatic "anti-heroes" have only existed in the last 30 or so years. Yet liberals don't want to discuss the smashing of cultural and moral values, only the availability of guns!

The police won’t strike. They don’t want people to figure out how easy it is to do without them.

So Bloomberg is suggesting vacating public order to advance his personal political agenda.

Gee, what a great idea. Not.

Dear Mayor Bloomingidiot,
Cops cannot protect you or anyone else from becoming a victim. All they can do is record the position of your dead body and hunt down the perpetrator.
If you don’t want to be a victim, then you have to protect yourself. Buy and carry a gun.

If the police struck where I live, it would be five of six years before anyone around here noticed.

We don’t use them, we don’t need them.

The only thing a cop does within 20 miles of my residence is take the occasional accident report or get conned into running speed traps with the Staters.

And WHY is this schmuck still in the RNC? Do we not have the power as a party to throw out members? Am I wrong? Is that just not possible?

So, I don’t have to worry about speeding tickets? Cool.

What other uses do the cops have? If I’ve got CCW, what do I need police for? Let the domistic voilence cases sort themselves out. Let the stores deal with shoplifters as the casino’s dealt with cheaters in the movie “Casino”.

I’m not seeing a problem here.

Bloomberg and his ilk don't care that, according to preponderance of scientific evidence, that guns ownership makes people safer. They don't care the 2nd amendment does in fact protect and individual right to own and bear arms. They don't care that the largest mass murders in United States history were not committed with firearms. They don't care that while gun ownership has increased dramatically over the last two decades gun related murders have gone down. They don't care that in those countries with the most legal gun ownership there are less murders than in countries with less legal ownership. They don't care that guns are used defensively far more then they are used to commit crimes. These are indisputable facts that every dedicated anti-gun advocate knows because they avoid being dragged into debates of logic and reason on these specifics. Instead they take a shooting spree and use the crime to their advantage knowing that no possible law could have prevented it.

When logic and reason fails to change the mind of an individual, they are either irrational or being deceptive to their true motive. This is true of not just the 2nd amendment but most notable liberal positions, it's increasingly obvious that liberals must some other motive for their policies other than what they articulate and promise as the results.

They stated goals of all of these liberal policies have failed but they continue with them despite logical and reasonable arguments to the contrary; Abortion, energy policy, educational policy, immigration policy, tax policy, environmental policy, Homosexual marriage, government health care, welfare, social security, gun control, and the environmental policy.

If these policies always fail and logically will always fail to provide what the liberals promised they would provide, why do liberals so passionately, unwaveringly, unerringly, and slavishly continue to support them? It's pretty apparent that what they are promising is not their actual motive.

Interestingly, and coincidentally I'm sure, while every policy has failed in its stated purpose, they have all increased the power and scope of government. What must a rational person make of this? The only motive that has ever made sense for the rise of socialism (including it's offspring ideologies) and progressive policy in general is the lust for absolute power. They desire nothing less than a return to world tyrannies and the subjugation of the individual where they can wield absolute power over us like little wannabe gods.

All of their arguments are just lies to hide their true motive. Don't bother to formulate logical arguments to wannabe tyrants. They only thing that will every pacify them is your subjugation. Recognize them for what they are and work against them.

Sorry Bloomers. When it comes down to a choice between police protection or the Second Amendment, I’LL TAKE THE SECOND AMENDMENT EVERY TIME!

Police on strike? I’m pretty sure this would have the exact OPPOSITE effect.

Gun sales would skyrocket.

I would guess Bloomberg has a Police Security Detail to protect him from those that drink too many soft drinks and eat too much trans fat. Does this mean they should go on strike as well? And who asked him, and who the hell cares what he thinks?
