July 23, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Campaign for Human Development paid a young Barack Obamas airfaire to a training program on community organizing given by the Industrial Areas Foundation, an organization founded by leftist radical Saul Alinsky, according a book to be released tomorrow on the subject.
No Higher Power, by conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly and journalist George Neumayr, reports that In the 1980s, the Catholic archdiocese of Chicago contributed to the training of Obama in the very Alinskyite radicalism that would culminate in such anti-religious measures as the HHS mandate, according to an article on the book published by the Blaze.
In fact, in the course of writing this book, we met a source who once had access to copies of documents from the archives of the Chicago archdiocese. This source supplied us with never-before-published copies of invoices, checks, and letters that confirm the Churchs support for the man who would one day seek to destroy its religious freedom, they add.
The documents, which have been published on the Blazes website and are displayed below, purportedly show correspondence between Obama, writing as a member of the Calumet Community Religious Conference, and the US bishops Campaign for Human Development, which is today known as the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD)
The letter purported to be from Obama is for the purpose of submitting proof of his requisition order for the ticket purchased for my trip to the IAF Training in Los Angeles, and is dated May 20, 1986. A copy of what appears to be the ticket or the requisition order for the ticket is included.
Another document appears to be a memorandum sent to Obama by the Campaign for Human Development regarding Reimbursement for the IAF Training Trip, and dated June 30, 1986. It appears to have been sent by the Campaigns offices in Chicago, and is accompanied by a check from The Catholic bishop of Chicago, a corporate entity headed by the Archbishop of Chicago who at that time was the controversial Joseph Cardinal Bernardin.
Enclosed, please find a check in the amount of $196.00. This represents the cost of the trip to California for the IAF training, the memorandum states.
LifeSiteNews.com was not able to reach the Archdiocese of Chicago for comment at the time of publication.
The CCHD has been criticized for decades for helping to fund pro-abortion groups and radical leftist organizations such as the now-defunct ACORN. Although the USCCBs administrative committee has issued a call for Review and Renewal of CCHD with guidelines to prevent such abuses, the American Life League reports that CCHD continues to fund numerous organizations that support the gay agenda, advocate the use of contraceptives, and support abortion as a right.
Bernadine, now deceased, was a phony Catholic who believed in progressive theology and was in his element post Vatican II.
I make these comments as a practicing, TRADITIONAL, Roman Catholic.
Alinsky and his minions made very aggressive attempts to infiltrate the Catholic Church back in the early 70’s.
I remember our local parish became affiliated with a Community Organizing group that had ties to Alinsky. My grandfather, who was very well-connected in the Democrat Party, knew all about Alinsky and was horrified. He and my mother staged a counter-campaign to educate parishoners. Eventually our Pastor changed his mind and bowed out of the organization.
To be fair that means he probably did not fully understand what he was getting in to. I am sure that many other Pastors were more committed and dove into Alinskyism enthusiastically.
The benefit to me was that I knew all about Saul Alinsky and his teachings before I was even out of grade school.
Knowing Obama as we do now, I'm certain that the diocese was duped into funding his trip.
Don’t count on that; this was Bernardin’s diocese.
+1
Evil always needs a cover of what appears good to survive. Hence, why Romney is in the GOP and tried to claim the conservative wing, also. Outright brazen but was embraced, nontheless by the easily deceived immature voters. IMO, he should have been drop kicked off the campaign platform. His father had ties to Alinsky so was shown how it is done. Your parents obviously had wisdom/discernment with a strong hatred of evil which was rate then and even rarer today.

When I was growing up, the church did not seem to be particularly concerned that anyone actually read the bible, but that they only followed the dictates of the parish priest. Of course, there were catechism classes if you didn’t mind a short study in rote memory.
Surprise, surprise.
A men of cloth SHOULD be able to see a manipulator/deceiver at the onset, how else can he protect his flock from wolves. He failed at not recognizing it so that means he had more in common with him. Not everyone is called of God who claim they are, He well equips those He calls.
No big surprise. Jesuit commie bast-rds were the ones who invented liberation theology.
They saw a promising new BLT convert in BHO ....
Because I disagree with the premise of the “Campaign for Human Development” every year when the collection plate goes around to collect money for this monstrosity I refuse to drop one penny into the basket. I am not at all surprised funds were used to train future cadre of leftist ilk.
” The Road to Hell is paved with the skulls of Bishops”.
I too am a Practicing Catholic.
How disgraceful.

The pics in your post #11 serve to illustrate that the Left is not committed to gun control everywhere; they seem principally committed to it only in the United States.
Good point.
YEP!!!!
Good eye!!
I bet those were Gunwalker F&F guns, too............
I suppose that the funds used to fund Obama came from the tithe paying church members.
I guess that is another real good reason why Jesus told us to beware of the hirelings, the preachers for hire.
