Liberalism Drives Men to Madness
American Thinker ^ | July 24, 2012 | Kevin Jackson

The shooting in Aurora, CO dominated the news this weekend, and not just in America. It was world news. The tragedy reminded me of a recurring question people have been pondering for at least a decade: why are so many of these incidents happening now?

The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence reports that the United States has experienced an average of around 20 mass shootings each year since 2005.

There was the rampage at Virginia Tech in 2007 that left 32 people dead. Only three days prior to the Aurora shooting, 17 people were injured in Tuscaloosa, Alabama after a gunman opened fire in a downtown bar, and one week before that, three people were killed and two were injured after another rampage erupted during a Dover, Delaware soccer tournament. The Fort Hood massacre occurred in 2009, two years after Virginia Tech, with 13 people losing their lives in that event.

The evidence is pretty clear that we are having far more mass shooting these days than we had in the past. You might want to make the natural jump to guns, as that is what the media will tell us to do. Guns are easy to blame. Relatively easy to get, guns make good culprits. But if people were killing people by driving into crowds with Chevy Volts, I suspect the media would not blame the Volt.

It should come as no surprise that the rise in mass killing sprees in America is in direct proportion to the rise in liberalism in American politics.

The old America was about hope. Kids were taught that they could do anything, be anything. And though America has never been nor will ever be perfect, she has always found a way to allow everybody to thrive. All it took was a person...

This is true as all of these shooters have been liberals or Christian haters.

question: 40 years ago, wasn’t it easier to get gns than today? K. Jackson is correct when he points out that the reason for the surge is not due to guns (or else we’d have less violence than before) but due to liberalism

I’ve said for years that as the economy tanks, expect more crime, but I wasn’t thinking of this sort of crime. I was thinking of domestic violence and theft.

It was. When I purchased my first gun there was no such think as a 4473....paid cash and walked out. Not so long ago a long gun purchase didn’t require a background check. What we’re seeing is a failure of govt to ‘protect us’. After all ‘gun control’ was sold on that basis. The premise of ‘protecting us’ was false to begin w/ so its little surprising the outcome is failure. It all sounded so good when the pols huffed and puffed but the reality is disappointing. Now we’re knee deep in failure and its becoming clear to some people we’ve been sold a bill of goods. My hope is more and more will come to understand the govt can never do what we ourselves MUST do. Self govt always trumps a central govt.

What if women organized and had a visible bracelet, pin or something that they were awarded after having been trained in the use of firearms? Widespread wearing of such an insignia would lead to less aggression on women. Think of it as our version of the “awareness” ribbon.

As the thin veneer of civility continues to crack, I expect more frequent and violent events. As a nation with core judeo-christian beliefs that have deteriorated over the last 5 decades, I am old enough to have watched the decline, I blame the progressive, secular rot that has spread through our nation. IMHO the current events are just the symptoms not the cause.

“...why are so many of these incidents happening now...?”

Lots of Progressive Manchurian Candidates at liberty, running around creating mayhem, to the delight of Progressives.

Just saying a possiblity.

IMHO

And after the libtards have sufficiently destroyed our morality and religious cultural base, then they will need a police state and a dictator to keep things under control. Way to go, libs.

“40 years ago, wasn’t it easier to get guns than today?”

Before 1968 you could buy an M-1 Carbine, & many other rifles, through Sears and have it shipped straight to your house.

Can anyone come up with mass shooting incidents in the 1940’s, during and after WWII?

Guns were all over the place, especially after the war, including lethal war souvenirs, yet, no spike in mass shootings/massacres.

How come?

Just asking.

The truth and the law is written on human “hearts”, it’s inherent.

“Liberalism” attempts to deny what is inherently true. This disconnect causes the mind to short out.

They sublimate the human nature and offer an artificial replacement that falls short and dehumanizes themselves with it.

My recollection is that the very first incidence of mass murder was the sniper from the University of Texas tower in 1966. Illegal drugs, immoral sex, and hardcore violence began in that decade and our society has been swirling down the toilet ever since.

Meanwhile.....

Nary a peep in almost ANY Lame Stream Media about the following "Gun Violence"

AFGHAN POLICEMAN MURDERS THREE CIVILIAN TRAINING ADVISERS, TWO AMERICAN AND ONE BRITISH

KABUL, Afghanistan—Three civilian police training advisers, two American and one British, were killed over the weekend by an Afghan policeman at a training academy in western Afghanistan, Afghan officials and a NATO official said on Monday.

In a separate incident, the NATO official said two service members with the U.S.-led coalition were wounded on Monday when an Afghan soldier opened fire on them in northern Afghanistan. No other details have been disclosed about that shooting....

Afghan security forces or militants dressed in their uniforms have been killing a rising number of coalition forces, but they have not been specifically targeting civilian contractors working for the coalition. So far this year, 26 foreign troops have been killed in this type of attack....

I guess it makes no never mind when a true "Believer" and practitioner of the "Religion of Pieces" SHOOTS some of our Kafur/Infidel Warriors, does it?

Ah, but we should all ignore this as it is but a blip in Obama's "Hearts and Mind" strategy and who cares if a few more of our Military get swept away in the process? /sarc

Liberalism is destroying the cherished, time-honored role of dads and men in American society. Without being wanted or needed as a loving provider, husband and father, the growing number of men on the margins are more likely to crack and do things like carry out mass shootings. Also, it’s certainly no coincidence that mass shootings have increased drastically since God and the Bible were driven out of the public square.

"...why are so many of these incidents happening now?"

A causal link between drugs such as prozac, and these sorts of senseless homicides, was established a long time ago.

SSRI Stories

I don't know that there's evidence to suggest such a link in this case, but observations of this guy in the courtroom yesterday, point to the fact that he is, or has been, under the influence of some kind of drug(s).
