Have you heard any later news on why Perry endorsed dewhurst?

Just a guess, but if Dewhurst loses to Cruz, he will still fill out his term as Lt. Governor. As such Dewhurst would still be the head of the Texas Senate in the upcoming 2013 legislative session and control the legislation through the Senate. Perry might find it difficult to get any of his agenda through the Senate if he were to back Cruz. Again, just a guess!

Also some other Texas Freepers maybe able to speak to this better, but were Dewhust to beat Cruz and then win the Senate seat, Perry may get to appoint someone to fill the Lt. Governor position until the next election. That person would no doubt be indebted to Perry.

I hate politics. It may be as you say but I think it has become a royalty of sorts and I no longer trust any of them. It is the only proven path of sanity. Make every single pol EARN our respect and trust. I trust NONE of them at this point... not a single one.
