On the heels of Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy's controversial public comments against same-sex marriage, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino fired off a letter to Cathy, urging him to abandon plans to expand the fast food chain to his city.

We are indeed full of pride for our support of same sex marriage...

Of all of things Boston should be 'full of pride' about... same sex marriage support?

WTF has happened to my country...

Come on.

That can’t be a real letter from the real mayor of Boston.

And if it is, then Chick Fil A and every other American corporation and real American citizens need to declare war on the communist homosexuals that are working overtime trying to destroy the USA.

Unfortunately, the GOP POTUS candidate agrees with “Tom Menino” and is as usual, laying low, staying silent, and ready to come out on both sides of the issue.

Menino better be prepared to throw out Interstate Batteries, the Catholic church, The Salvation Army and any group that’s minding it’s own business and didn’t start this thing.

While your at it Mr Mayor throw out the muzzies also.

There isn’t one in Boston. But there is being proposed to be one, opposite City Hall of all impudent places. It would sure brown that mayor off to see crowds chowing down on God-fearing-fried chicken opposite that sacred spot, every day at noon.

Hey Chick-Fil-A. Don’t let that two bit politician stop you. Demand a referendum.

Any Mosques in town?

Don't recall the details, but I believe there is a mosque going up on land purchased from the city (i.e., Menino) at a fraction of its market value.

Menino did in fact keep Walmart out of Boston (surely no one here wants those jobs or those low prices!). And during the Occupy frenzy, Occupy Boston was told they didn't need a permit or to post a bond or to obey any laws regarding demonstrations that apply to everyone else. I believe he also provided "free" electricity and wi-fi.

even California voted against it.

Massachusetts didn't get to vote. Opponents gathered enough signatures to get it on the ballot, but the Legislature (with the support of the gov) used underhanded (and illegal) chicanery to keep it off the ballot. In spite of numerous Boston Globe polls claiming MA was all for it! (You know how much you can trust a Boston Globe poll, don't you?)

History will render judgment on the views of Chick-fil-A executives. City Hall doesn’t have to.

History has already rendered judgment. Societies which promote homosexuality die. Societies in which traditional, faithful, fruitful marriage flourishes endure ... until they get lazy and stupid and promote homosexuality.

Next up ... Mexico? Good folks, but they have a crappy country ... India? China ... easier to recover from Communism than from Sodomism ...?

Um, isn’t discrimination wrong? Illegal? Or is it ok as long as it is against Christians? I mean, the man THINKS things that the Mayor of Boston doesn’t agree with. He doesn’t not serve homos, he doesn’t put worms in their meals. He just happens to agree with the majority of the WORLD that it is perverted. And..??

Is Boston in such a healthy state that it can turn away businesses and jobs?

The state rate is 6%. Boston is something like 5.7%.

Three of the five or six towns abutting Boston are more liberal than Boston.

Brookline,Cambridge,and Newton.

This is how wacko this country has become. Twenty years ago a comment about someone saying they were against homosexual marriages wouldn’t have raised an eyebrow. Now you just can’t be against it, you have to join all the libs shouting how wonderful it is. Menino is a gigantic ass.

Sounds like he WANTS a civil war.

Newsflash: this front in the culture war is already lost. It's been lost for a generation.

Polling shows clearly, even in 2008, Americans aged 18-29 in 40 states supported homosexual marriages.

They were born between 1979 and 1990 with the oldest of them reaching 18 in 1997. They were kids during the peak of the AIDS crisis and the Reagan Revolution, and likely children or perhaps grandchildren of Baby Boomers.

They and the next generations do not believe as you do. Your views and values on these matters did not prevail in their upbringing and education. They're already teachers and parents, some becoming public officials.

I pointed out the "40 states" for a reason. It tells us, even if there was a traditional marriage amendment, it would join the repealed 18th amendment in short order.

The Boston mayor should get stuffed.

How convenient, both mailing address and phone number for the Boston Mayors office presented right here for me so I can tell them I am canceling my business meetings and a planned trip there.

Also Dan Cathy's address so I can send him my best wishes and support.

It’s ironic how easily this klown Menino discriminates. Just another hypocritical, intolerant dhimmicrat.

Indeed. Mrs. 40 and I wanted to take a trip to Boston this fall to visit her sister; it would be my first trip there. We have talked about this and we’re no longer going. Sis can come to SoCal. I’m also going to write the mayor’s office and tell him why.
