Jim Greer denounces Florida Republican Party officials as liars, 'right-wing crazies'
Tampa Bay - St. Petersburg Times ^ | July 26, 2012 | Lucy Morgan

TALLAHASSEE — In a wide-ranging deposition that spanned two days in late May, former Florida Republican Party chairman Jim Greer denounced some party officials as liars and "whack-a-do, right-wing crazies'' as he described turmoil in the months before his resignation.

Greer said some GOP leaders were meeting to discuss ways they could suppress black votes while others were constantly scheming against each other.

He blamed criminal fraud charges filed against him in 2010 on legislative leaders and other party officials who he says orchestrated an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the statewide grand jury to avoid paying him money he was due.

His statements were in response to questions from lawyers for the party, Senate President Mike Haridopolos and Sen. John Thrasher. Greer has filed a lawsuit against the party and the two officials in an attempt to collect $130,000 he was promised in a written agreement shortly before he resigned. The lawsuit, pending in Leon County, is unlikely to be resolved until after a criminal trial scheduled for mid November.

Copies of the 630-page deposition and other documents were released by statewide prosecutors Wednesday.

Greer's testimony offers a window into the level of animosity that exists between Greer and the party he once ran.

The charges and the party's failure to pay him have ruined his life, Greer said.

"They took everything I worked for my whole life,'' he added. Now his family is on food stamps, some of his possessions have been repossessed and his children watched their father being arrested.

"Any good thing I did at the Republican Party has been destroyed by these people,'' he said. "I want my life back. I want them to say they are sorry for what they did to me.'

Mr. Greer sounds like a liberal - note he even plays the race card.

It's definitely deep in his blood. All rino talking points intact complete with a whine.

He need not feel so singled out - half the country is on food stamps.

Apparently there is a lot of interest in these credit cards, especially Rubio's credit card.

As for the use of terms like whack-a-dos, and rightwing crazies, the GOP has to get that under control. Maybe they can shift to more "clinical" terms like "Bachmann Syndrome"

Sounds like the Repub Party in Alaska, at least the ones that went after Palin all those years before she was governor. Corruption goes across all party lines and it grates me to see conservatives destroy their future with good old greed and single minded issues.

"I'd say (to Rubio) you've served Florida very well in the speakership in the Legislature, but I think we all know that Charlie Crist is a highly popular governor," said Greer, who owes his job to Crist.

I should think that would be the pull quote from the story. Knowing next to nothing about internal Florida politics, from this story I would say that the GOP was doing well to get rid of this guy.

So what exactly did Bachmann do for you to say she has a syndrome?? Was it her efforts to defeat Obamacare? Was it her efforts to inquire about the influence of radical Muslims in the Obama regime??

I smell BS. Give names, dates, etc., to back it up or shut up Mr. Greer.

The Kenyan must go.

RINO season is not over yet in Florida. The SOB Greer was just the start to eradicate those former Democrats that switched when it became apparent the tide was turning. So now we are in a 12 year process to vote them out. 2010 was the opening salvo and as the remaining ones expose themselves by their actions instead of their words.

Angela Corey is just the latest example and is a very big brown stain on the Duval crowd.

"So what exactly did Bachmann do....."

For one thing, she is the head of the House Tea Party Caucus.

Michelle Bachmann doesn't have Bachmann Syndrome. She is not a kook, a crazie, a malcontent, etc. Bachmann doesn't actually think muslims have infiltreted the State dept. She knows the difference legal tender and reserve currency.

She takes these positions only to cater to the kooks, crazies, and malcontents as a way to raise money. She's not the only republican politician that does this.

I understand that many are dis-appointed. They hang their hopes and dreams on indivdual politicians as being "one-of-us" only to become dis-enchanted when they find out otherwise.

He was a criminal and a true politician. Anyone who was for Charlie Crist in that time was not a conservative. Hence, to these thieves, Conservative= Wack a do.
It was all very simple and clearcut, this guy is a POS.

This guy and those like him are why I no longer identify as a Republican... I am a Conservative that supports Conservatives... the republican party is now a progressive party.

What he means is that GOP leaders were meeting to discuss how to suppress blacks from voting more than once. Blacks believe committing voter fraud is their God-given right.

Yep, I tried to be a member of the REC but things like the deification of Angela Corey just nauseated me. There are some good people there but the “sit there and listen to us” from the head table was enough for me.

I can only imagine what goes on since Angela showed her true colors on the Treyvon case.
