Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Inhofe told The Daily Caller he believes President Barack Obama pressured the military into granting an unprecedented exception to rules that prohibit participation in political activities while in uniform.
The Defense Department authorized a waiver to allow uniformed service members to march in last weekends San Diego gay pride parade, overriding a Defense Department directives specific rules against uniformed service members participation in political events.
The Department of Defense isnt allowing this to go on, its the president, Inhofe said in an interview with TheDC. The secretary of defense answers to the president, and the military answers to the commander in chief. Clearly this is Barack Obama.
In a letter to Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Inhofe asked for an explanation of the decision.
This apolitical stance has served our military well and earned the respect of not just Americans but nations around the world as being a professional organization, set aside from policies and agenda, Inhofe wrote.
The Pentagon officially said military members could march in their dress blues and whites because the parade was garnering national attention.
This is the first time in Inhofes 25 years in Congress the Department of Defense has issued a waiver to override the directive, he said.

I wonder if on the National Day of Prayer he would allow the troops to participate all in uniform in the same manner?
Anthing for a vote.
Correction. Anything for a vote!
If it weren't for Double Standards, the left and the MSM would have no standards at all.
That blockhead “O” thinks that just because he hit the ‘political popularity lottery’ he can MO FO 200+ years of representative government in this country!!
Since that was done, then the Marine Sargent who was discharged for his facebook/twitter entry... Should be reactivated and given all pay and allowances back.
I hate to tell you, but so far Dinglebarry has done a great job of circumventing the constitution. I’m still waiting for the congress to stop “The King’ and his royal mandates. The House controls the purse and the Repubs are in control, so where’s the denial of “The Queen’s” million dollar expenditures, GM bail out, Chrysler give away. crony capitalism like the green energy debacle?
I would not hold my breath. In my opinion, the Republicans should be screaming to high heaven about his abuses. They are not. So, the only logical answer is that the Republican Party is in cahoots with him.
We all are waiting! Congress is like Rip VanWinkle... when will they wake up?
The Republicans in Congress have forgotten what power is and what to do with power... the Liberals have bullied and intimidated them to THAT extent!!
Fortunately, the voting Conservatives will redefine POWER for them very soon!
And the gay rights and same sex marriage and gays adopting pusher Willard said...
STILL CRICKETS
It looks to me like he is doing it.
This is to be expected when we elect a gay president.
And has Mitt Romney had anything to say about this issue?
The sound of crickets is heard while Mitt Romney is again curled up in the corner hiding from an issue....
Makes perfect sense, they can wear their uniforms at gay pride political marches but NOT at Tea party protests. That way the masses of voters get the right images planted in their heads. Ever wonder how Dems won their gay rights propaganda battle with young people?
In a way this a special right for political gays that the rest of us don't have.
WHO WAS THE BRASS????
