I never understood the Vegetarians making fake meat. If it’s so disgusting to them, why do they want to eat the imitation? It’s like lesbians dating women who dress like men. Just go get the real thing if that is what you want.
I guess they want the taste without the guilt of zapping the critters or the supposed ill health effects of eating their meat. If veggies want their imitation meat, why should I interfere with that any more than I should try to feed hot dogs to rabbits? But they should not be able to dictate everybody else’s diets.
I would say that the use of fake meat is so vegetarians can create meals that appeal to non vegetarians and still maintain their diet goals. I know vegans ( the kind that want you to be vegan for your health not cause you're a murderer of animals ) make all all kinds of food replacement like cheese from almonds and milk from soy.
