On Tuesday morning, all three met with a staffer and were driven to the restaurant and arrived shortly before Obama. The three said the restaurant workers and other patrons received notice only a few minutes before the president arrived.
Foeller and Dilley said Obama ate half of a cheese sandwich and skipped the ham in his split pea soup. "He's a pretty tall and slender guy," said Dilley. "Maybe that's why."

Some sects and cultural differences in Christianity and Catholicism avoid pork as well. I know several Peruvian Catholics who don’t touch pork in any way.

I don’t get it. If there’s a piece of ham in a soup, wouldn’t the ham “pollute” the rest of the soup? So even if he didn’t eat the physical ham, he ingested ham “juice”.

My train of thought exactly.
Not sure if that’s exactly the reason, though. The soup could not be Kosher even after removing the ham, since the soup was defiled by the ham. Don’t know if the same applies to Halal.
It’s possible that the Kenyan usurper just doesn’t like ham.

I’m pretty sure you have to fast from sunrise until sunset during Ramadan.

All have connections to the Obama reelection campaign and were presumably chosen for good political reasons.

In any group of over a million people you’re going to find some Democrats. It won’t do him any good. The vast majority of servicemembers, veterans, military retirees and their families hate this fool. It might persuade a few independents that he cares about the troops, if they’re not paying any attention, but that’s about it.
As a politician Obama is a transthiest. When he visited Egypt he told their foreign minister privately that he was Muslim. If he came around my neighborhood and someone asked him about his faith he would speak in tongues.
He may not be a Jew but this was probably his way of trying to win back the Jewish vote :-)
