Assad on the way out says Turkish Prime Minister

Assad's days are numbered according to Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan.

The news comes as Syrian government forces say they are preparing for a major push against the rebels in Aleppo on Friday.

Speaking on Thursday the Turkish prime minister said that the Syrian President and his inner circle were on their way out which would usher in a new era.

He also said that Turkey could act against a 'terrorist' organisation in northern Syria if it sees it as a threat. A warning to Kurdish militants thought to be operating in the region.

In Moscow Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused the US of fueling the conflict:

"We propose things that can help stop the violence right now. The other side doesn't think that way; for them it is either a capitulation of the government, or material support to the armed opposition. They justify terrorist attacks," he said.

His declaration has raised tensions at the UN Security Council where the Russian and Chinese vetoes rejected sanctions against Assad and his inner circle. Washington has said it is seeking ways to deal with the Syrian crisis outside the international body.

Assad will allow his military to die for him while he escapes with his millions of dollars. If the military was smart they would get out now.

“Assad will allow his military to die for him while he escapes with his millions of dollars.”

Louis the Fourteenth said, “I am the state.” Men like Assad see themselves as the state. They are the only important thing in the country. All others are there to serve them. He can’t leave with his millions. The money isn’t important. It’s window dressing. The important thing to a dictator is that he’s in power. He will die like Hitler, in a bunker.

If the military were smart, they’d turn their big guns on the presidential palace, and kill Assad and every one of his close allies and his family.

I don’t think he’ll get the chance to run, unless his current crackdown succeeds and things completely quiet down over the next, say, week. He’ll have to either bag it and get out, or be arrested and replaced by a different, interim dictator. I don’t think anyone is optimistic that more bloodshed by his regime will stop the uprising.

Remember a year ago when it was just protests? He had troops out with their guns blazing, and it failed. That was a one-way trip, after he tried it, he couldn’t say, “oh, I was only kidding”, or “the renegades who opened fire without any orders from me have been punished”. He was screwed either way, so he’s just continued to do what he does best. And he’s screwed.

I still think of that caravan of trucks from Iraq to Syria.

WMD not found in Iraq.

Maybe WMD in Syria's Bekka Valley?

And, who would want to get their hands full of WMD?

(Everyone afraid of Iran with IM-A-NUT-JOB's plan of leadership in a Pan-Arab environment; or maybe Pan-Arabian attack on Israel?)
