Romney says EPA should be force of good, not evil (Stupid - he should be saying get rid of it)

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) should use its power for good, not evil, Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney told supporters Thursday night at a fundraiser in London where he will attend the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

“My view is that the EPA — if it keeps to its mission and does not use its power to foster or further an anti-carbon energy agenda — would be a more effective department,” Romney told the crowd.

Politico is reporting the comments today, and says that Romney also criticized as overreach the Supreme Court’s Massachusetts v. EPA decision in 2007.

“I happen to think that the decision by the Supreme Court and by the administration to have the EPA also regulate the emissions of carbon dioxide was beyond the intent of the original legislation,” Romney said.

“I believe the EPA has to see itself as being responsible for our air and water and not take action which can prevent us from taking advantage of the extraordinary energy resources we have, such as coal, oil, natural gas,” Romney said.

This election will be decided by a few thousand moderates in a few states. If he said he would eliminate the EPA some on FR would cheer....but it would be political suicide. The media and obama would rip him to shreds.

Nixon probably never dreamed the way the EPA operates today!

It can be useful if run right! Probably better to abolish it if it cannot behave!

The thing to understand about "moderates" and all their holier than thou talk of compromise, is that they are the true purists. They never have any intent of compromising with us filthy conservatives. That is reserved for their liberal friends.

When Mittens blows this thing, the first thing you'll hear is screeching about conservatives costing him the election.

Here's a candid comment from a moderate in Michigan about the race to fill Thad McCotter's seat.

"I and a lot of Republicans I know won't vote for a tea party guy," said attorney David Zacks of Bloomfield Hills, strolling past the expensive boutique shops of downtown Birmingham with his son during a recent lunch hour.

McCotter was a compromise that conservatives made despite his failings but when the shoe is on the other foot, all bets are off with the moderates. Moderates are lying, manipulative, bottom feeding scum. If they'll vote for Obama over eliminating the EPA, they aren't moderate, they're full on liberals and should just stick with Obama.

The GOP has been moderated into a coma and they need to hike up their big girl panties and moderate the party that actually needs it. If they don't have it in them, then they deserve to be left out in the cold.

ALL such agencies should be converted into advisory councils to congress so they can pass laws intact and not leave the details of laws up to such agencies of unelected employees through “regulations”.

That’s effectively what this does.

H.R.750 - Defending America’s Affordable Energy and Jobs Act
To preempt regulation of, action relating to, or consideration of greenhouse gases under Federal and common law on enactment of a Federal policy to mitigate climate change.

http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-h750/show

Its been dead in the water since February of 2011. It hasn’t even made it to committee despite over 100 co sponsors.

The EPA problem goes much deeper than either Romney or obuma.

In the Rapanos v US case we had the Nazis at EPA nailed down for extortion and sedition. The gutless US House refused to even hold hearings. The entire EPA hierarchy should have been swinging from ropes.

The fact that the EPA exists is a signpost that the criminal fascist syndicate has taken over Washington. The states that are passing legislation to arrest these traitors are doing the right thing.
