ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, barnstorming for presidential candidate Mitt Romney, made an unexpected stop in Albuquerque Saturday when his plane developed in-flight problems and made an emergency landing.

The private plane touched safely down just before 4 p.m. after a cockpit sensor indicated an electrical problem, according to Daniel Jirón, a spokesman for the Albuquerque International Sunport.

Fire and rescue units were called out and standing by for the landing, Jirón added.

No injuries; second plane malfunction of the day. Rubio was enroute from a campaign stop in Las Vegas to one in Iowa.

Small plane crashes have killed at least 3 senators and 1 ex senator in fairly recent years. I count John Heinz, John Tower, Paul Wellstone, and Ted Stevens. Blessings and safety on those currently traveling.

The story says this was the second plane and a third was not immediately available.

My employer owned a small private aircraft which was used every week for employee travels on business because it saved a lot of time, and employee time is money. This employer was not a big outfit, about 400 employees. I guess you are not familiar how business works.

I guess not, but Marco is...
The Miami Herald and the Tampa Bay Times (then known as the St. Petersburg Times) reported during Rubio’s Senate bid that the Florida Republican had billed the state party for more than $100,000 during the two years he served as state House speaker:

The charges included repairs to the family minivan, grocery bills, plane tickets for his wife and purchases from retailers ranging from a wine store near his home to Apple’s online store. Rubio also charged the party for dozens of meals during the annual lawmaking session in Tallahassee, even though he received taxpayer subsidies for his meals.

JULY 27, 2012 Ethics commission dismisses old case against Rubio
The Florida Commission on Ethics dismissed a long lingering complaint against U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio on Friday, clearing him of wrongdoing in questions surrounding his use of a state GOP-issued credit card.

“This was a politically motivated and frivolous complaint from the start, and Sen. Rubio is pleased that the commission dismissed it on all counts,” spokesman Alex Burgos said.

The March 2010 ethics complaint came during Rubio’s Senate campaign against then-Gov. Charlie Crist...

Amen to that sister! Rubio is our Silver bullet that will deposit liberalism on the ash heap of history. I believe Romney made his pick two years ago. His ability to be able to talk to the youth and to Hispanics and to the Tea Party makes triple threat that the Dems can’t answer.

Marco Rubio is a RINO fraud. He was a liberal Florida State senator and a liberal Florida House Speaker. Upon joining the United States senate,he refused to join the Tea Party caucus. He lied about his parents being refugees from Castro’s Cuba, when he knew full well they came to the United States, before Castro came to power. Rubio was the co-sponsor of the senates internet freedom killing,’PIPA’ legislation, the companion to the House’s draconian,’SOPA’ Bill. When the Bleep hit the fan when the people in this Country found out about what was in ‘PIPA’,Rubio acted like he hadn’t heard of the bill before and came out against it,Even though he was the co-sponsor. He also joined McCain,Boehner et al in attacking ,over her legitimate criticism of Huma Abedin. Plus, the week Obama gave an executive order granting Amnesty,it was revealed several days before, that Rubio was working behind the scenes with the dems for a compromise ‘Dream Act’. Now given all those FACTS,what the heck in the world exactly, qualifies Rubio as a Conservative?
