Islamist threat is real and growing

Israel sits squarely on the front line of the war by Islamist fanaticism against the West. The Jewish state for decades has been the lone outpost for democratic government and its values in the Middle East. It has also been America’s most trusted and reliable ally in a troubled part of the world.
Those simple truths explain the central position Israel occupies in U.S. foreign policy. That fact is underscored by high-profile visits this month to Israel by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney.
Though Israelis are accustomed to life under an existential cloud, events of the last couple of years have reminded them and their allies once again that Israelis live in a very dangerous neighborhood.
For all the hope once engendered by the uprisings that are transforming the Arab world, the reality is the growing power of the Muslim Brotherhood, especially in Egypt. The brotherhood, an Islamist organization that never hid its hostility to Israel and the West, greeted the unexpected Tahrir Square revolution by saying it would not contest the presidency of Egypt. Then Islamist parties, led by the brotherhood and an even more radical Salafi Party, captured 75 percent of the seats in parliamentary elections. Now the brotherhood holds the presidency thanks to the election of Mohammed Morsi.
He and the brotherhood are locked in a power struggle with a military committed
to retaining its control over Egypt’s society and economy. Anyone making bets on the likely outcome won’t have to look far for guidance. A few years ago in Turkey, the military reigned as the supreme arbiter of power only to see its authority eroded and eclipsed by the rise of Islamist politics. Though that transition came through democratic elections, the Turkish evolution to Islamist government is far from complete. Its arrests of journalists to suppress dissent and its abandonment of a once excellent relationship with Israel are not encouraging signs.
The end of warm relations with Ankara and the threat to the cold peace with Egypt from Islamist control in Cairo come as Iran marches forward with its drive to acquire nuclear weapons. Neither sanctions damaging its economy nor a heightened U.S. naval presence in the Persian Gulf has swayed Tehran from its goal.

Well; did not hear what she said; but will go back; that is hilarious.
Of course; a 'CAIR' robot; worth his screws; will NEVER give it up. But West nails him; on every issue; with his knowlege of the Koran; his experience - and wisdom learned - in fighting against Muslims; and 'for Muslims'. He wipes his shoes; with this CAIR Rep.
Beautiful to see/hear/watch. Oh so wish; we had more of this insight and the courage that brings it to life; rising to the top of Repub Party!
Oh, yes; would love West as VP - which means of course; we will probably get Elizabeth Warner or the Virginia guy/sigh. Because that appears to be the ignorant 'log in eye' of our Repub Leadership. They need 'fire'; we will probably get water or just more 'hot air'.
But hey; am open to surprises! (Also love Marco Rubio;(yes; yes; I know. . .) who too; is fearless, at least; in his addressing America's problem with Islamism.
Can only hope; that Mitt; knows; but will not say; but will 'act' judiciously; when/I> elected. But hey, Mitt;give up your Tea Party bias; get a VP who will go there; if you won't/cannot or will not. This choice is a maker/breaker; at least per Repub hearts and minds; if not their actual vote. But why Mitt; go to the 'least of these'.
Not that it really matters; as am hoping that she is NOT the one. It is not our 'War on Women' to have to defend. It is the Left's. Mitt needs to leave it that way.
Did you ever see the video of David Horowitz speaking before a college group. A very arrogant muslima stands up to defend her Islamic ignorance, then Horowitz asks her if Islam requires them to kill Jews and she said without hesitation...yes. Chilling.
