When Cheney became eligible for the draft, during the Vietnam War, he applied for and received five draft deferments. In 1989, The Washington Post writer George C. Wilson interviewed Cheney as the next Secretary of Defense; when asked about his deferments, Cheney reportedly said, “I had other priorities in the ‘60s than military service.”

Arrogant turd

I never got the hero worship of the guy around here. It is no virtue or act of courage to become the most widely discredited and unpopular administration since Jimmy Carter. Thanks for nothing, guys.

“Why did Cheney personally attack Palin”

Good question. My first thought was that it was beneath him. Maybe, though, it was a subtle non-recommendation of one or more of Romney’s VP possibilities.

No, i do not think they would accept it. “had more important things to do”. Was his reason for scrambling for 5 deferrments, only the last of which did he have a kid.

But this puts him in good company, Mitt sat out the war in France as a missionary.
Screw the GOPe. That Chickenhawk label never fit so well.
Cheney is a classic Chickenhawk. If they think the way to win the election is to give the finger to Sarah, they lost me.

Just as i was starting to acccept that maybe id hold my nose and do it.

And that mistake has been repeated in 2012 as Sarah Palin will be be at the top of the GOP Ticket.

That seems to be her mistake and yet you don't criticize her for not even entering the race.

Sure Dick, why not have Romney pick a similar boring, white bread, milktoast, RINO wuss, like himself and chase away the few members of the stupid party who are still reluctantly supporting him?

Makes a whole lot of sense to me. /sarc

“Methinks Dick got a lefty heart transplant.”

It wasn’t a transplant, it was an implant. He didn’t have one before.

Nothing like finding a queer in the family to make you do a hard left turn.

Sarah Palin is sitting on between 18 and 20 years executive experience. This is more than almost any other President we have ever had.
Palin’s record includes a term on the Wasilla Council, two terms as Wasilla, AK Mayor, a stint as Chairwoman of the Alaska Oil and gas Conservation Commission (which she left to almost single-handily take down the corrupt GOP Establishment in Alaska). She served as president of the Alaska mayors association and as chairman of the Republican governors. As governor she accomplished more in two years than most do in eight years. Alaska has the largest national guard and they are always on active duty with the governor briefed daily.
The Governorship of Alaska, as defined by the Alaska state Constitution, is the most powerful in the nation. This has left Sarah Palin uniquely qualified to go from being the most powerful Governor in the nation to being the most powerful national leader in the world.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it...DICK!

Regardless, the Left is so publicly enjoying Cheney's stupidy and the conservatives are so seriously outraged he will have to backpedal and soon.

Bet Romney has writers working right now on Dick Cheney's “heartfelt” apology to Sarah Palin that he will deliver before Rush Limbaugh is on the air tomorrow.

Sorry Dick, but Palin is the only reason McCain did as well as he did.

While an induction medical may have caught something, he didn’t even try. And i don’t even fault guys who did anything they could to avoid the draft.

What i despise are the ones who do that, and THEN try to act like a national security hawk. I have more respect for someone who went to Canada than i do him. At least the hippy in Canada didn’t come back and claim to be a foreign policy tough guy. He is another long term political hack from the Nixon/Ford era. Like Mclame. Like all the Bush clan.

It was very much was a mistake for Gov. Palin to not have entered the race, but you must consider that she was and has been very busy with her Editorial Work at Fox News, her responsibilities with her reality show, not to mention Bristol’s competing on Dancing with the Stars.

I didn’t vote for either McVain or Palin. I voted against the Kenyan obomo.

Sure, Palin wasn’t ready to serve as POTUS on Day One but she was just as qualified, if not more so, than the imposter we now have in the White House.

I'm amazed at how many people are putting their personal feelings about Palin over the critical importance of winning in November.

It's pathetic. There, I said it.

She didn't run for the nomination, polling universally shows she is a liability with the general electorate.

In 2012, she has made it her job to work on down-ballot races and that's precisely where she's needed most.

She gets it, why can't you all?

I’ve about reached the point where I have nothing but scorn for the “general electorate”. A pack of dolts, nothing more.
