Along with the creepy tableaux of fictional villains terrifying sick children, the ode to Britain's socialized health care was by far the most irritating part of Friday night's Olympic opening ceremony -- produced by lefty film maker Danny Boyle.
And just what show would that be?
They have also been in trouble with the PC crowd many times; thus, they would have my vote. :-)
I believe there was also a segment that portrayed the Industrial Revolution as evil. Two pieces of Socialist propaganda in a lackluster Opening Ceremonies. Even Queen Elizabeth II was bored.
You're kidding, right?
Watch this:
1. Leeches for blood letting
2. Maggots for wound cleansing
3. Garlic for flesh eating bacteria
4. Denial of cataract operations for the elderly
5. Proposing organ harvesting...keeping people on machines till ready for the transplant.
6. "Do - it - Yourself" dental kits a must have item in UK
7. Islamic nurses allowed to keep long sleeves and not use alcohol based disinfectants
8. Doctors prescribe water to prevent dehydration death
9, Hospital wards still based on the multiple patient Victorian system
10.....and a fast track to the morgue for all.
Curious to know if Mr. Boyle or his family has used the British health system.
Silly author! Don’t you see that there is a common theme to the headlines you sited? This Boyle character probably thinks doing away with the elderly is just jolly.

You get the idea. It's pretty easy to cherrypick stories that make the health care system look bad. The reality is actually that the NHS is more like the US health care system than you like to admit.
I'm married to a lady who grew up under NHS. She still has most of her family under the NHS, from her 87-year old mother to her children to her grandchildren. They all receive excellent health care, not because the NHS is so wonderful but because they live in rural, middle to upper-middle class neighborhoods. It's not much different from where we live now in Georgia. Our local hostpital, North Georgia Baptist, is clean, well staffed and has just had a major expansion. It's easy to see a doctor, even on short notice.
Grady Memorial in Atlanta, on the other hand, is a horror show. It's a dumping ground for the poor, the homeless, the addicted. It's overcrowded and understaffed. They recently had orderlies arrested for stealing the jewelry off of the bodies of accident victims that were brought in to the emergency room. It's all of your worst nightmares in one big building, and it's a common sight in any big city. They even made a hit television show about this phenomenom called St. Elsewhere.
If you live in Cheltenham, UK, you are going to receive good health care. Liverpool or inner city London is a crap shoot, just like the good old USA.
The husband of one of our good friends was put on a list for a liver transplant. They kept adding conditions and goals for him to meet until it got to be too expensive for them to keep up. they took his name off of the list and he died a few months later. Can you say death panels?
I'm no fan of the NHS or any other form of socialized medicine. But bashing them to build up our system is mostly a pot vs kettle battle, much as you'd love to think differently.
Sometimes #2 and #3 are the best answer for difficult cases.
Healthy granny, 76, dies after hospital denies her food and water for a WEEK
Also the only 3 in the UK who know what they are doing.
Ok, 4...I forgot The Stig.
They would have put on one hell of an opening ceremony with hot cars, smoke and flame guaranteed with a high probability of explosions.
