WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former President Bill Clinton will have a marquee role in this summer's Democratic National Convention, where he will make a forceful case for President Barack Obama's re-election and his economic vision for the country, several Obama campaign and Democratic party officials said Sunday.

The move gives the Obama campaign an opportunity to take advantage of the former president's immense popularity and remind voters that a Democrat was in the White House the last time the American economy was thriving.

You know the ‘RATS are in a bad way when they say that Barry has lost his magic, maybe Slick Willie could draw them in.

Remind voters that a Democrat was in the White House the last time the American economy was thriving.

4.7% unemployment, 14,000 Dow, Home values at highest levels. That was in 2006. Pretty thriving.

Clinton should speak at the RNC convention and say give-me-a-break. Obama is the biggest fairy tale he has ever seen.

So much for the the-Clintons-hate-Obama theory advanced on these pages.

Would he be doing this on Wednesday, where the NFL moved opening night (Cowboys at Giants) to in order to accommodate Barry on Thursday night? If so, who in the world will be watching?

Wonder how long before he realizes he got the shaft

Could be a while. These types and their staffs sometimes seem oblivious to the world outside their world.

First read; ‘thought it’ as Republican Convention. Realized error; but also realized why I even imagined it; if only because, it seemed all too plausible.

The economy really didn’t go South until the DEMs got control of Congress. Bush was only in office a couple yrs. O bummer has been in 4 years and he is still blaming Bush.

Well that makes two channels I won’t be watching. Maybe Criminal Minds, Leverage or Flashpoint will have a show on I haven’t seen.

The Bush's have to go into hiding but the impeached, disbarred, perjurer, philanderer Clinton is the one making a splash for his party's nominee's reelection.

That tells us a lot about where we are as a nation. Historians should take note!

Of course it's a lie but the "objective" journalists at the AP and their elite fact checkers won't touch it.

and remind voters that a Democrat was in the White House the last time the American economy was thriving.

That's not true, of course...it was thriving quite well during most of the George W. Bush's term (prior to the Democrats taking control in 2007 of Congress).

However, even if this were true "that a Democrat was in the White House the last time the American economy was thriving" that is certainly not the case this time around. One of the signature achievements during Clinton's term was his decision to finally sign into law welfare reform, which Obama has just gutted.

I was going to suggest you go post that in the comments section of the AP website. But I see they don't want readers to comment. Chickens#it AP!

Biden will speak before Obama on Sept. 6, in front of tens of thousands of people expected to fill an outdoor stadium in Charlotte, and millions more on television.

Just some unnamed outdoor stadium? Try Bank of Amerika Stadium, you AP communist pukes. Why wouldn't you give the name of the crony capitalist bank which the O'Bastard propped up with many billions in taxpayer funds?
