Wash. Post, NY Times furious at Romney for demolishing their false Israeli-Palestinian narrative
American thinker ^ | 7/31/12 | Leo Rennert

Posted on 07/31/2012 10:14:15 AM PDT by Nachum

With headlines blazing and printer's ink aplenty, the Washington Post and the New York Times turned downright apoplectic about Mitt Romney's comment in Jerusalem that differences in "culture" are the key to Israel greatly outpacing the Palestinian territories in economic performance.

"Romney angers Palestinians with remarks on economy," reads a six-page headline in the Post. "With Jerusalem Comment, Romney Raises Sparks," blares a six-column headline in the Times.

The headlines are a tip-off that these two papers deem Romney's remark an unpardonable affront to their own narratives of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

For years, they have blamed Israel for prolonging the conflict with the Palestinians and here comes Romney with one well-chosen word demolishing their basic thesis - that Israel is at fault for not making greater concessions, for refusing to divide Jerusalem, for expanding settlements. Take your pick. But avert your eyes from any Palestinian transgressions.

Romney turns this Post/Times premise upside down and squarely puts the onus on the Palestinians -- that they have demonstrated "cultural" propensities that foul their own nest.

Such as being governed by a kleptocracy under the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and a theocratic terrorist regime in Gaza. Such as failing to empower women and such as trampling over basic human rights in suppressing Hamas adherents in the West Bank and Fatah members in Gaza.

None of this, of course, graces the pages of the Post and the Times, which instead seek to parry Romney's remark about "cultural" impediments on the Palestinian side by blaming Israel for limiting trade with roadblocks and checkpoints in the West Bank and a blockade of Hamas-governed Gaza.

But that's confusing cause and effect. Neither the Post nor the Times acknowledges that such Israeli restrictions are the effect of another key component of Palestinian "culture" --

As a result of this you will see video and pictures of thousands of male Palestinians out protesting...instead of at a job working.

Compare the number of Jews receiving awards and recognition for advances in the sciences, medicine, and arts. This tiny population is represented in such advances an order of magnitude greater than their representation in the general world population.

The Jews are NOT promoting brain washing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslims!

The Jews don’t hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves upin German restaurants. There is NOT one single Jew that has destroyed a church. There is NOT a single Jew that protests by killing people.

The Jews don’t traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.

Perhaps the world’s Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.

Muslims must ask ‘what can they do for humankind’ before they demand that humankind respects them!!

Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel ‘s part, the following two sentences really say it all:

‘If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel’ -Benjamin Netanyahu

I watched the opening of the Olympics and on the countries entering the arena alphabetically, it came to Palestine. Got out my giant atlas and there is no country of Palestine. I knew this going in but just had to find proof of it. Palestine is not a country yet, was in the parade as a country. Another case of the media fooling with the public mind to their political ideals.

I could never understand the demand that the king rat of the occupants of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip be regarded as the equivalent of the Israelis in negotiations.

Never actually elected, any of the fake election only resulting in two or more armed camps each disputing the right of the other armed camps to represent - something. Certainly nothing to do with the actual residents of these two benighted zones.

The fact is, denials and charges of “racism” aside, the bunch that populate most of the West Bank and Gaza Strip are pretty much a bunch of beggars with no known work ethic, and no aspirations beyond avoiding punishment by their immediate “betters”, who look upon them with scorn, and are as likely to deliver a kick at their heads as cast a few coins into their begging cups. And that is just the males.

The females among this horde are among the most despised, ridiculed and maltreated of any in the world outside Afghanistan, and for much the same reason - they are subject to Shar’ia law, and there is not one accursed thing they can do about it.

There is no charity, no empathy, no shared aspirations among these people, they are hopelessly trapped by the very mindset in which they are mired. There is no ethic here for accumulated capital to be put to use in the benefit of making life even the least bit easier for all involved.

islam is NOT the answer. It is the cause of a predominant amount of grief in the world, both to its adherents and everyone else.

Not a Romney fan (holding my nose and voting for him though...) but I have to say, this was BRILLIANT on Romney's part.

With one statement he fully exposed the hatred of the left wing liberal media towards Israel, and their real agenda.

: Well done.

I’ve been to Isreal, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are alive and vibrant. I could see the other side of the wall from the expressway i.e. the west bank. It’ looks like a slum.

Item ** Jews ** Muslims ** Jew/Muslim %
Nobel Prizes ** 129 ** 7 ** 1843%
Population ** 14,000,000 ** 2,000,000,000 ** 1%
Nobels / Population ** 0.00092143% ** 0.00000035% ** 263265%

What this says is that

1) Jewish Nobel Prize Winners outnumber Muslim Nobel Prize Winners by 1,843% (18 times)
2) Muslims outnumber Jews in world population by 142 times
3) The odds of a Jew winning a Nobel Prize are 263,265% better than the odds of a Muslim winning a Nobel Prize.

And that’s before you start subtracting Nobel Prizes for “Peace” to lifelong terrorists like Arafat.

Everything I needed to know and understand about the palentinian vermin I learned when they were given vast green houses that would have fed many palestinians.
All in working order when due to treaty them Jews were forced to abandon them.
Stoopid palestinians scavanged evertything and pawned it.

” i.e. the west bank. It’ looks like a slum.”

And unnecessarily so. The Arab population has been given huge amounts of aid. If they would spend their time teaching their youth how to make money instead of war, it would be a paradise.

I believe you mixed up being Arab and being Muslim. They’re not identical as the biggest Islamic country in term of population is not even in middle east. A Pakistani Muslim has won a Nobel Prize in physics: Abdus Salam. Meanwhile, Elias James Corey is a Lebanese but he’s a Christian.

There is no such thing as a Palestinian. They were CREATED by the Romans around 139 AD after they destroyed Israel. They had another name given to Jerusalem, however it would not stick and people continued to call the city Jerusalem.

So, if I’m reading this correctly, you’re saying that the Palestinians are pretty much like our own Son’s (and daughters) of Bammy?

Also like Holder’s people.
