Where in that statement does she "thank God" as you put it for AIDs? At worst, she is guilty of trying to put a human finger on the will of God (bad enough in itself).
Unlike the Westboro Baptists people, she is responding to an unwarranted attack on her morals and freedom of speech. While cringe worthy, at a certain level, her statement is a far cry from the BS you just spouted off about her.
By your logic, one can only deduce that you've already signed the change.org petition.
Be sure to stop by the Chick-Fil-A Freepathon thread.

She didn’t thank God for aids. She remarked that perhaps the reason it came a out was due to His displeasure with homosexuality. I doubt this woman is a Westboro supporter.
Please point out where she thanked God for AIDS.
At any rate, she was angry. Have you ever said anything out of anger that may not have come out exactly the way you wanted it to?
BTW, Christians are allowed to get angry and yet they’re still Christians. Try to be perfect and you’ll fail.
For the most part, she said it well and I agree with her.
I just looked at FB. These people are being hammered by the Leftists. It’s a massive flashmob of hate. Homos and Obamabots (redundant, I know) are spamming their wall with every name under the sun.
At 50, my FReeper lady and I are right with you.
Call us racist? Don't give a damn...see boy who cried "wolf".
Homophobic? Back in the closet, creep.
Anti Mooselimb? Love religious tolerance, but they don't seem to practice it.
Anti-illegal? You bet we are.
Working class American? Thanks for what you do, now learn how to vote.
No more backing down from any of this PC crap. We no longer care about your "cause", and probably never did.
While Lokan-Mooore does address some important issues in a reasoned way, the comment about AIDS wasn’t a smart move.
Don’t overplay your hand.
God has instructed us how to live our lives. He did so in part so we could avoid disease. I don’t believe he created AIDS to take out homosexuals.
The part about ‘in your face’ homosexuality was a great point that is seldom made. Enter the AIDS comment and nobody will ever hear the great point that is seldom made.
The tide is turning because many of us have realized, with the choice of Romney, that we no longer have anyone to support our views. If we want to keep them, we have to stand up for them. Neither Party will do so.
Still, pulling a quote from Ben Franklin and attributing it to the Bible, as well as the AIDs reference do nothing to help the cause. They will be treated as ignorant and hateful. A kind response could have educated much better.
Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger
and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error
I agree. She did a disservice to herself with the AIDS remark. I thought her point about the selfishness of a single Mom who provides no father-role model for a growing boy was an EXCELLENT point, and yes, a shame her AIDS comment will be what is going to wind her in a mess, poor woman...
I like the verse. I think you made a good point with it.
And that militance will increasingly be met with angry outbursts like this one. Unfortunately the ill-considered outburst will probably be classified as a "hate crime." The Gaystapo had the political foresight to criminalize thought.
In a lighter vein do you know what they call lesbians with long fingers?
Well hung.
Ridicule is the best weapon, as Alinsky counseled his Marxist followers. Works both ways though.
I’m envious. No Chik Fil A franchises around here (’here’ being the inland PNW), sad to say. Love to try one, even though it’s not exactly on the diet. But what the hey.
Didn’t have a chance to bring my lunch today. Guess I’ll go and have a Costco hot turkey and smoked provolone sammich. That and a drink comes to $5.91. Hard to beat.
I wonder where the Bible quote came from?
I guess they didn’t get the word that they didn’t build it.
Maybe the B & B owner should change the sign to “Intolerant Gay Stormtrooper Thought Police not welcomed.”
From the onslaught of AIDS in the 1980’s, many believed it was a “judgment from God” on this lifestyle. It may not be PC to say this in your purview, but I have no problem with her statement. Being a Christian does not mean you cannot point out the obvious. The way she said it was “mean-spirited” but oh well, when you start a fight, be prepared to take the flak.
ha, watch the double-entendres! ;-)
