Newport Beach billed President Obama's campaign for police security at a fundraiser. The Secret Service says that security is its job, not the campaign's, but that it can't reimburse the city.

Newport Beach City Manager Dave Kiff billed the campaigns of President Obama and presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney for police security at their separate fundraisers this year in the city.

Now that the Romney campaign paid its bill, the city is left in the awkward position of trying to collect from Obama.

Deadbeat Kenyan is dead on the mark.

The SS is in no way responsible for his campaign expenses and that cheap turkey and his campaign know it.

Romney’s campaign should pay the obama bill for him. Pay with a check and just make a notation at the bottom what it is for. Don’t utter a word about it, and let the ensuing results unfold. If it isn’t publicized then that will be an end of it. If it is...heh,heh,heh.

It would be interesting if a town told the Obama campaign that it needed to cough up the estimated cost in advance, or the town would not provide any extra police presence.

Cities should tell obama they are giving the cops the day off that he plans to visit on.

Oh, you want security? Pay us UP FRONT and we’ll do it.

easy to understand, he can piss all over california, and they will still give all their electorial votes to him.

what does he have to do? if he payed it would only cost him money.

people still supported stalin while he was killing their neighbors.

blessings, bobo

Yes, but then you’d have to worry about the dead beat’s check bouncing.

The bank would notify the town pretty fast if a big check bounced. Then the cops get told over their radios to return to their precinct in the middle of the event.
