You have a media that is always looking for a gaffe on the part of conservatives or the GOP. That’s SOP. His UK “gaffe” wasn’t a gaffe, but it was characterized as one.
Later, among those paying attention it’s been shown that Romney was right. London and GB weren’t ready for prime time. Romney’s Olympics was despite starting from a worse position. Point to Romney.
Your original post to me was:
“There was nothing good or positive about it.” You were referring to the entire trip. You know that Romney doesn’t get any “points” from the MSM anyway. He’s won them among those paying attention and comes home a stark contrast to Obama’s failed foreign policy.
The trip was a massive success. It accomplished what the campaign wanted.
CW: courtesy ping as you were mentioned in the previous post.
Thank you for the ping.
As you have noted, Romney understood that the 2012 London Olympics has had difficulties (if anyone is in a position to understand this, it would be Romney). It was only a “gaffe” to those predisposed to look for something to criticize.
On your part that’s now repeated misrepresentation of my postings, this is my last response to you.
I initially wrote that he’d done well in the other two countries, but that he wasn’t quite victorious in the UK. The man is running for president and over there to show his superior diplomacy skills to Obama’s. When you’ve got prominent UK pols reacting with indignation in response to his gratuitous commentary on their handling of the Olympics, that is not a diplomatic success whether or not he was right in his assessment.
You responded specifically about England, since that was the focus of my initial post, and my subsequent response, as in “It was...” was likewise so focused.
Your repeat dishonesty in addressing my posts here does not do your man Mitt any particular favors.
