Richard Viguerie: Ted Cruz's Victory Foretells Conservative Takeover of GOP

"The victory of Ted Cruz in the Texas Republican Senate runoff primary means that the torch is being passed to a new generation of principled small government constitutional conservatives and that the 'let's make a deal' Republican Party of old will soon go the way of the Dodo bird.

"Ted's nomination sent a strong signal that a new conservative Republican Party is being born and, by 2016, principled conservatives will replace most leaders in Congress and the Party at the national, state, and local levels. GOP leaders should 'ask not for whom the bell tolls -- it tolls for thee.'

A cakewalk for Cruz when conservatives in Texas descended on neighborhoods with great support for him and broke a sweat to help him. This was BEFORE the late endorsements I might add.

Freedom Works and Jim De Mint were instrumental coming up with the the early money, a great cold cash injection and rallying a little DC help.
Mark Levin was the early endorser who turned some heads.

So let the RINOs go take over the Democrat Party and drive the Marxists out to the fringes where they belong.

This country has survived and even sometimes thrived in the various RINO administrations since World War II (Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Bush & Bush) but we can't survive Marxism for much longer.

No doubt, the hard work done before the Big Guns came in set the stage for victory.
The biggest difference is how these Conservative Superpacs
helped level or as close to level the money advantage Dewhurst had. It helped counter-balance the money advantage
Dewhurst had.
A Road map for Tea Party victory was tested in Texas and it
ALL came together. The hard work of grassroots, the conservative superpac money (leveled the playing field)
and the final help of Tea Party Big Guns. Of course, the most important of all, you had a credible, gifted candidate.
a credible candidate

Dewhurst figured he could “shock and awe” Cruz with his $$ advantage. But the overwhelming negativity turned a lot of folks away. I’m not sure the tea party aspect deserves as much credit as does Dewhurst’s campaign incompetence.

There are times when I get the impression the old guard in the Republican party (the current leadership) would rather see it dissolved than let Conservative Constitutional Republicans take over.

Unfortunately that probably holds true for some GOP voters and the problem is that the long time democrats have no problem with the Marxists who now control the party

If memory serves, Viguerie has opposed the death penalty at least since the 1980s out of fear that an innocent might be executed by mistake.

I agree. The members of the Tea Party and I (and you) think it’s time for us to finally see some real differences between the candidates. I’m sick to death of having to choose between hard left statists, and those stuck in the middle of the Left side of the spectrum.

Let me at least vote for someone in the center of the spectrum. And by accident, perhaps give me someone in the middle of the right once in a while.

the way libertarians denigrate real conservatives, we wouldn’t miss the abuse from the Left.

I'm very libertarian but I like to say that I became a conservative on 9/11. My libertarianism is not of the "tear it all down" variety, but rather of the Constitutional / States Rights variety.

Remember that libertarians are "this close" to being anarchists (those dregs that call themselves anarchists today are really just more Marxists giving anarchists a bad name).

Of course, none of this excuses many of the Ron Paul supporters who act like liberals. Our differences, after all, are way less than our commonalities vs. the left.

Libertarians are radical leftists that would be lynched in 1800 America if they tried to sell their anti-God, pro-homosexual, pro-porn etc. nonsense.

Here is the leftists agenda hidden behind the Libertarian Party curtain.

Libertarian Party Platform:

Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political boundaries”.

Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.

Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.

Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.

Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.

Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography; zero restrictions.

Military Strength; minimal capabilities.

I'm not ready to characterize the TEA Party as conservative, yet. They are more libertarian and solely fiscal-issue centric, an libertarianism is NOT strictly conservatism.

Depends on the Tea Party group. I know a lot of Tea Partiers who are solid social conservatives as well. Of course the emphasis is on economic issues since that's front and centre in everybody's perception at the moment, but conservative activism (including Tea Partiers) has not forgotten the social issues, as the massive showing for Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day - driven by social media and traditional email campaigns - is showing.

You are trying to sell an anti-Palin fake history.

May 10— Sarah Palin has weighed in on the fiercely competitive Texas Senate primary race with an endorsement of Ted Cruz, the tea-party-backed candidate announced on his website Thursday.
Mr. Cruz, pulling 26 percent of likely Republican voters in the latest Public Policy Polling survey, is hoping to finish well enough in the May 29 Texas GOP primary to make it into a July 31 runoff with Mr. Dewhurst, who is comfortably in first with 38 percent.

========== Dewhurst leads Cruz in the PPP poll, 46 percent to 29 percent.

The picture is very different when it comes to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who supports Cruz. PPP, a Democratic-leaning firm, found that 36 percent of Texas Republicans say Palin’s support would make them more likely to back a candidate, while 21 percent consider it a negative.

“In every other state, Sarah Palin’s endorsement has been a game-changer,” Cruz told Texas on the Potomac this afternoon.

Deal is a MAJOR disappointment but what should we have expected with him being in DC for 16 years? The TSPLOST presser with Kaseem Reid sealed it for me... The couch with Newt & Nancy comes to mind...

Hopefully, Our 2 squish Senators will RETIRE and not run again. The conservatives have talent and it’s time for the RINOS to be sent away...

I’m with you...

Palin is the main game changer, just like in Nebraska.

Deb Fischer and Palin’s latest triumph
The intriguing nature of Fischer’s win is that the new GOP establishment, defined as the Club for Growth and Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina, had endorsed Stenberg. Palin endorsed long-shot Fischer.

If memory serves, Viguerie has opposed the death penalty at least since the 1980s out of fear that an innocent might be executed by mistake.

That is a legitimate concern. A court that executes someone wrongly is itself guilty of murder, a capital offense.

According to Noachide Halakhah only an eyewitness can convict someone of a capital offense. Hearsay, circumstantial evidence, and even confessions are not sufficient. Also, non-Jews are permitted only one means of execution: "by the sword" (which means beheading, though hanging will do). So we're definitely not doing it right.

I was simply concerned that he might be opposed to the death penalty in principal, even when execution is called for.

Here is the leftists agenda hidden behind the Libertarian Party curtain.

Anytime someone claims to be able to declare someone else's position, it is much more credible if an authoritative source - recognized by that other party - is provided. So the rest of your statement is suspect, at least.

However, I didn't claim that the libertarian philosophy I described in my note is aligned with the current "Libertarian Party." I find that party position to be too far toward anarchy - even for the tradition of that philosophy. However, I think that Jefferson's declaration of, "That government is best which governs least," is a good starting point. It can, like any other position, be taken to extremes and lose it's value.

As another caution, declaring that "Libertarians are radical leftists . . ." smacks entirely too much of the immediate namecalling and 'extremist' label that the current liberals/progressives/statists/socialists/liars do. I wouldn't leap to that namecalling if for no other reason than to keep my distance from that type of repugnant behavior.

Nonetheless, I don't support the Libertarian Party. As I said, I'm a Constitutionalist. And I don't think the current right/left, liberal/conservative labels mean anything. The anti-socialist nature of libertarianism, for example, is hardly 'leftist' by today's typical (and misused) labels.

The bottom line is whether I would try to find common cause with fiscal 'conservatives' if the alternative was continued power for the Democrat party. Answer: In a heartbeat.

That summary is a perfectly accurate description of the radical leftist positions of the Libertarian party platform on those issues, here is their wording on immigration for instance.

This is the actual, 2004 text of the Libertarian Party Platform on immigration.

COMPLETE PLATFORM TEXT
INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS AND CIVIL ORDER

IMMIGRATION:
The Issue: We welcome all refugees to our country and condemn the efforts of U.S. officials to create a new “Berlin Wall” which would keep them captive. We condemn the U.S. government’s policy of barring those refugees from our country and preventing Americans from assisting their passage to help them escape tyranny or improve their economic prospects.

The Principle: We hold that human rights should not be denied or abridged on the basis of nationality. Undocumented non-citizens should not be denied the fundamental freedom to labor and to move about unmolested. Furthermore, immigration must not be restricted for reasons of race, religion, political creed, age or sexual preference. We oppose government welfare and resettlement payments to non-citizens just as we oppose government welfare payments to all other persons.

Solutions: We condemn massive roundups of Hispanic Americans and others by the federal government in its hunt for individuals not possessing required government documents. We strongly oppose all measures that punish employers who hire undocumented workers. Such measures repress free enterprise, harass workers, and systematically discourage employers from hiring Hispanics.

Transitional Action: We call for the elimination of all restrictions on immigration, the abolition of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Border Patrol, and a declaration of full amnesty for all people who have entered the country illegally.

‘”Ted’s nomination sent a strong signal that a new conservative Republican Party is being born ..’

CONGRATS Ted Cruz, and CONGRATS to TX and the entire country!

Let’s work hard in our own states and get more Constitutional conservatives in the U.S. Senate, as well as the House.

btw, NY’s U.S. senatorial candidate, Wendy Long, is a lot like Ted Cruz. She is a Constitutional conservative, never ran before and both Wendy Long and Ted Cruz have served as law clerks for SCOTUS justices.
