BOONE, NC (WBTV/WIS) - The owner of the largest Wendy's restaurants franchise in the world showed his support for competitor Chick-fil-a with a message on some signs in the Carolinas.
WBTV has learned of at least one Wendy's sign in Columbia, South Carolina that read "We stand with Chick-fil-A" on Wednesday morning.
A couple of hours later, that sign was taken down.

It would be cool if CFA took another step and tongue-in-cheek made their gallon of sweet (or unsweetened) tea on sale on Tuesdays....
Tea Party Tuesdays
I am sure he will.
Thanks South40. Great comments I can easily identify with.
Yes, here’s hoping it does!
Take care.
No surprise here. Wendy’s is a quintessential capitalist success story just like Chick Fil A. And they were pioneers in proving you can make a gigantic fast food chain that can still serve fresh food with at least some semblance of standards unlike McDonalds or Burger King. A kind of chain that even food lovers normally adverse to fast food can enjoy from time to time with no shame.
So of course they would side with fellow capitalist success stories and support fellow business men by what they bring to the table rather than personal values and beliefs.
Will do! You take care also, my FRiend. :-)
My Gdaughter-in-law is the same and she posted this: "What a blessing to see so many people supporting chick fil a today!! Took 15 mins to order food and there were cops directing traffic when I left, but also got the opportunity to witness to two ladies who had no idea why they were so busy today!! :-))."
And then there’s those bright bulbs at Penney’s....../s
Sitting her wondering when FORD will announce that they support traditional marriage. Or perhaps Harley Davidson. Seems to increase business.
Good for them. Could that be one of the many reasons why Wendy’s has become the number 2 fast food joint after McD’s. Beating out BK now a days.
Absolutely. Yesterday was the equivalent of a very expensive advertising campaign. Those are typically designed to reward existing customers and entice new customers. Some percentage of the new customers linger. I'd say that CFA got 10s of millions of promotional benefit from this.
Exactly! We do not eat out a whole lot. On the rare occasions that we do, and when it's "fast food", CFA becomes our default pick.
Same here from a friend who called me at 7:30 last evening reporting on his seeing a quarter mile backup at a CFA. He bent my ear for 20 minutes.
Now does anyone have a list of pro-liberal cause businesses? Let's really make them pay!!!!!!!
I know after seeing the rainbow oreos, I'll never buy a package of them again.
It’s too bad the press flunked English. “Owner of World’s Larget Wendy’s Franchise” would have removed the ambiguity regarding the size of the franchise versus the size of the owner.
Strangely believe it, there may be a considerable backlash as well.
The long lines of cars extending for blocks and blocks slowed traffic and often blocked the entryways for other merchants. Those merchants put up signs saying please don’t block entrance but sometimes the flow was such entrances were briefly blocked.
There is also reciprocity to stand on his side. He owns the buildings, not Wendy’s. If the crapola gets too heavy from corporate, he can always change the facade of the building. They are doing that at a closed Wendy’s right in front of my office.
I’d click your link, but I don’t want to soil my computer or spoil my day.
If they were smart (big if) they would have done the same and anyone not willing to wait in the line would have gone to them instead. Or, those who were in line would patronize that establishment when they wanted something other than chicken.
