Reid: Romney is guilty of tax evasion until he proves he’s innocent

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said that the burden of proof is on Mitt Romney to prove that he hasn’t evaded paying his taxes, despite the legal principle that a person accused of a crime is “innocent until proven guilty.”

Reid accused Romney of what amounts to tax fraud, but he doesn’t think he to provide evidence for the charge. “I don’t think the burden should be on me,” Reid told reporters on a conference call, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal. “The burden should be on him. He’s the one I’ve alleged has not paid any taxes. Why didn’t he release his tax returns?”

The Nevada Democrat earned a law degree at George Washington University in 1964 —

Harry’s next job should be assigned by the courts. Something fit to his station in life. Something like sucking the farts out of seat cushions at the local theater.

If Romney is laughing then he doesn’t understand how damaging this is to him. Even if he’s perfectly in his rights.

This has been a bleeding sore on his campaign for a year not. They have not figured out how to neutralize it. It is serious and going to get worse for him.

He’s the one I’ve alleged has not paid any taxes.

You're one of the most powerful men in Congress and all you can do is make an allegation!?
No charges filed? No arrest? No perp walk?

FAIL! (before it even started)

I honestly don’t know how you can believe that.

I haven’t seen Romney taking any advantage of Obama’s “documentation problems”. The democrat politicians and Big Media are all over Romney’s taxes.

The country is run by an illegal, unconfirmed shadow government — Obama’s “czars.” We don’t know many of them and their backgrounds are completely concealed.

What pathetic desperation. Unfortunately, the media will play it up into the loudest theme of the campaign.

Romney could not have avoided this attack any more than whatever else the Obama supporters will throw at him. Obama was put into power by just such tactics and nothing has to be real or legitimate, just publicly insinuated, to continue the effort to keep this democrat progressive puppet in the presidency. Mitt Romney, as any other business person with good sense , has tax personnel who hue the line with the IRS to the degree that is possible and a few percentage gains are not worth the aggravation of courting yet more IRS digging for loot for Obama and his confederates to squander. Mitt Romney has run his business empire more efficiently than the US govt and is why he has the money to finance his run for the US presidency. There are many billionaires and millionaires with more money than Romney but he is the one who is putting his life and fortune on the line for his country. God bless Mitt Romney and, whatever the outcome of this election, he has done his part to rescue these United States from the inevitable total destruction of our constitutional government if Obama is reelected.

Actually, that IS the way the IRS works! They don’t have to prove it; YOU do!

This attack plays nicely into Dems ‘Republicans like Romney only want to help the rich’ theme. I thought Moore had a good argument regarding this general theme but I think Romney is hiding from this fight. He seems like a pathetic candidate, little surprise. He needs a good attack dog fighter VP.

First of all my good FRiend, you are correct about a candidate needing an attack dog, UNLESS the guy at the top of the ticket is so overwhelming (example, Ronald Reagan) that the choice of VP is a moot point (despite the Poppy Bush lovers, Reagan would have won in '80 regardless of who was on the ticket because that imbecile Carter tried to turn the contest into a referendum on 'Reagan the Warmonger' and that failed, Reagan on the other hand turned the election into a referendum on dum-dum Jimmah, with "are you better off than you were four years ago?" combined with "there you go again", but alas I digress...)

Of the names being bandied about as potential VP pics by Romney, (Pawlenty and Portman to name two), most have all the charisma of a mashed potato sandwich. What Romney needs is indeed, an attack dog who can take it to the enemy and that means Congressman Allen West. West is inoculated to the inevitable 'racist' charges from the 'Rats because (*SURPRISE*) he's BLACK. West could and would savage 0bama on the campaign trail because all West has to do (which he has already been doing) is telling the truth on that miserable Kenyan sonuvabitch.

Think back to '68 when Nixon surprised everyone with his selection of then-Governor Spiro Agnew of Maryland who was one of the best attack dogs in the history of attack dogs, contrasted with the weepy Ed Muskie who didn't do a damn thing for Hubert Humphrey except deliver Maine's 4 electoral votes for the 'Rats. Big whoop.
